June is the month for wine festivals in every region of Virginia, and we are pleased to feature just a few in this issue. These events provide great opportunities to learn about Virginia's wonderful wines and to visit some of the state's most interesting sites. Featured Festivals this month:

THE BODACIOUS BAZAAR
May 31 - June 2, 2019
Hampton Roads Convention Center

This is a shopper's dream! A three-day shopping extravaganza with something for everyone. And, when you need a rest from shopping, you can relax, sit and sip a glass of Virginia wine from the several wineries participating.

The Bazaar features over 230 vendors, artists and crafters. Furniture, decorations, landscaping, yard art, foods and seasonings are among the multiple offerings. Participants include Anderson's Home & Garden and Countryside Gardens.

Plan a getaway weekend to take in the Bazaar and enjoy the Hampton area and all it has to offer.

SpringJubilee


RASSAWEK SPRING JUBILEE
June 1: 10am-6pm / June 2:  11am-5pm 
Rassawek Vineyard, Goochland County

Now in its 9th year, the Rassawek Jubilee celebrates the local, the handmade and the homegrown. It recognizes  and honors the art of Virginia crafts and the people who create them, recognizing that they contribute to strong communities.

Virginia wineries will be featured at the Jubilee along with cideries, breweries and distilleries. There will be music, a variety of food vendors, artisan exhibits and kids' activities. A favorite of families is the friendly catch and release fishing contest. Poles, tackle and bait are provided, or bring your own. 


 













LeeHall

SUMMER CELEBRATION WINE FESTIVAL
June 8: 11am-6pm
Lee Hall Mansion, Newport News

The splendor of Lee Hall Mansion's beautiful grounds is the setting for the 18th annual Summer Celebration Wine Festival.  The popular venue in Newport News is conveniently located a short distance from I-64, Exit 247.

Virginia wineries will be featured along with a variety of food, craft vendors and entertainment by Joe's Day Off and the Rhythm Kings. Admission includes access to the main level and exhibit gallery of the historic house. The Festival will take place rain or shine event.




Manassas

MANASSAS JAZZ FESTIVAL
June 15: 12-7pm

The 2019 event takes place on Saturday....instead of Sunday, as in past years.

The 15th Annual Manassas Jazz Festival will be held this year on Saturday, June 15, at the Manassas Museum in downtown. The event features live jazz music, as well as wine, beer, and spirits from around the area.  There is something for everyone to enjoy!

Virginia farm wineries, craft breweries and local distilleries will all be on hand for an afternoon of live jazz music that will make this the perfect day! Bring out your lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy a great event in downtown Manassas! (Please leave your pop-up tents, canopies, quick-shade, etc. at home.)


Shenandoah

SHENANDOAH WINE & JAZZ FESTIVAL
June 22:  5-10pm
Frontier Culture Museum, Staunton

The popular Shenandoah Wine & Jazz Festival returns to the Frontier Culture Museum for the first evening edition on Saturday, June 22. S ample and purchase delicious wines, grab a bite to eat from the food trucks, relax and enjoy great jazz while you watch the sunset.

Featuring wineries of the Shenandoah Valley, the lineup includes Barren Ridge, Bluestone, Brix and Columns. A variety of food will be available from Mashita, Big Red Barbeque, Paella Perfecta and Delicias Marina.   Chrome-Tweed will perform from 5:00 to 6:30, followed by Randy Johnston 3 from 7:00 to 9:30.
