Blessing of the Inlet

2018 BOI Celebrated 22 Years
God blessed us with a beautiful day for the 22nd Annual Blessing of the Inlet on May 5! We are thankful for His continued blessing in our Inlet community. Funds generated this year will support many missions, charities, and nonprofit organizations. The total amount of funds generated will be announced this coming Sunday, May 13, at worship services. We are so thankful to all who attended, participated, or volunteered for this great event!

James L. Belin Celebration
Sunday, May 20
5 PM
St. John's Outdoor Chapel

The Centennial Team invites you to join us in the Saint John's Outdoor Chapel to commemorate the life of our benefactor, James L. Belin. This will be an opportunity to learn more about his life and those who were his contemporaries on the Waccamaw Neck. Our guest speaker will be historian, Lee Brockington, senior interpreter for Hobcaw Barony.

We are so very blessed to enjoy not only this beautiful place which he chose for us but also to carry on his mission bringing the good news of Jesus Christ to all who come.

Light refreshments will follow in the Belin Garden. We look forward to sharing this time with you.

Contact Henrietta Huff for further information (843.222.7721).

50 Years of Service

Sunday, June 10

10 AM
Belin Creative Learning Center

Join us as we celebrate Ms. Myrt's 50 years of service to our nursery here at Belin Memorial. Light refreshments will be served in the Belin Creative Learning Center at 10 AM, and a basket will be set up for those who would like to leave a note of appreciation.

We would love to see you all there as we recognize Ms. Myrt and all that she has done for our children over these many years. If you cannot be in attendance and would like to send a card or note, you may mail to the church office or email to [email protected].

Sunday Greeters Need Your Help
New Greeters Needed
We're about to create the calendar for Sunday morning greeters for the second half of the year. This is a great way to meet new people and share the warmth that you experienced when you first came to Belin Memorial. Please consider joining us. Typically you are assigned three Sundays to greet during the course of six months. Flexibility in the schedule means that we can meet most folk's time needs. Please email Gary Nuss at [email protected] or call 570.916.4783 to provide your name, phone number and email address, which service you are willing to greet at, and any calendar requests you have at this time.

Note to Current Greeters
If you have already been helping with Sunday morning greeting, thank you very much! It is an important ministry of the church. In planning the schedule for the second half of the year, it is important to hear from you if you no longer wish to greet or if you have any special calendar requests to be taken into consideration in creating the schedule for the next six months (July-Dec.). If you have updated contact information, please make sure to inform me so I can remind you when your week is approaching. Please let me know no later than May 27th. Please email Gary Nuss at [email protected] or call 570.916.4783.

Mission Opportunities
SC Disaster Response
The SC Disaster Response Team of the South Carolina Conference has identified a home in our community that was impacted by the historic flood of 2015 and Hurricane Matthew in 2016. The roof was compromised and is in need of being re-shingled. The Disaster Response Team is looking for volunteers to help repair the home. The job will consist of removing the preexisting shingles and laying new shingles.

If you are interested in helping one of our neighbors in need, the Disaster Team will be working on the house Monday, May 14 to Friday, May 18. Volunteers can work either all week or for a part of the week. Please contact George Olive ([email protected]) if you are able to assist in this local mission project. A mandatory background check and forms need to be completed before you can volunteer.

J-1 Visa Exchange Visitor Program
The J1 Visa program is looking for volunteers to help in many areas during the summer. This is a program that brings in young adults from other countries to work and learn our culture over the summer. They are in need of homes to stay in for the summer, help with travel, and more. Please contact Brandy Streett if you would like more information on helping with this exchange program ( [email protected], 843.357.5180).

Meal Mania 2018
