Final Grades

Finals week can sometimes be bittersweet. It is the celebration of all that you have learned. It can also be a stressful time as you busily complete projects and prepare for final exams and the end of the semester.

Final exam week ends May 13th, and final grades will be available to students in Flashline by May 17. It is an excellent idea to check your transcript once grades have posted.

If your graduation plans have changed, or if you have concerns about your grades, contact us at: isss@kent.edu .
Summer Travel Signatures

Traveling Outside the U.S. this Summer? Plan Ahead!
International students planning to travel outside the United States over the summer need to obtain a travel signature prior to leaving the country. We invite you to plan ahead in requesting a travel signature.

Ensure you have the correct travel documents and approvals with you.
Please remember to travel with the following documents:
  • Valid passport
  • Valid visa
  • I-20/DS-2019 with a valid travel signature (see following)
  • EAD card, job offer letter, and pay stubs (if you are participating in OPT or STEM OPT - pay stubs are optional)
You can obtain a travel signature by dropping off your most recent I-20/DS-2019 to the reception desk at the Office of Global Education
during normal business hours. Your I-20 will be ready for pick up the following business day with an updated travel signature on page 2 for I-20s or page 1 for DS-2019s. The travel signatures are valid for 1 year (unless you are on OPT or STEM OPT).

Because of required processing time, we recommend that you plan well in advance to obtain your travel signature.

The travel signatures are valid for 1 year (unless you are on OPT or STEM OPT).
Summer Dining Hours and Locations

If you plan to remain on campus throughout the summer, you should be aware that Kent State Dining Services will have reduced hours at many of their dining locations and a few locations will be closed over the summer.

For a complete list of available times and location closings, visit Dining Services' Dining Hours webpage. The page currently lists the hours for spring semester. Summer hours will be posting following the end of spring semester, so check back in a week or two.

Kent State and Brazil's Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná Partner to Launch the American Academy

Matheus Priosti came a long way to find his purpose. Five thousand miles, in fact. The São Paulo, Brazil, native made the long journey from South America across the equator to arrive at Kent State University in August 2016, and he has never looked back.

"Kent State has had a huge role on me finding my identity and passion," says Mr. Priosti, a sophomore biology student concentrating in pre-medicine. "What has most helped me identify my passion is trying - trying every opportunity and learning from your mistakes. And I feel that Kent State University is excellent at this aspect."

Now, more students from Brazil will enjoy the Kent State experience as two universities from separate hemispheres have come together to offer an exciting new opportunity for students seeking an American college degree from Kent State. The American Academy is a new partnership between Kent State and Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná (PUCPR), a major university in Brazil, for students who want a global experience while earning their degree.
Donation Drop Offs

Moving off campus or away from Kent for the summer?
Before you throw items in the trash, consider donating them to a family in need. Each year, students donate nearly 100,000 pounds of non-perishable food, clothes, rugs, furniture and other items to Portage County Family and Community Services.

Items can be donated to Throw and Go containers in each residence hall. International students who live off campus can donate items at the Office of Global Education in Van Campen Hall
