City Receives Placemaking Grant

The City was awarded a $25,000 grant from Forward Pinellas' Planning & Placemaking Grant Program for a best and highest use analysis of West Tarpon Avenue. The project will identify feasible and optimal redevelopment scenarios that provide maximum value for West Tarpon Avenue near Spring Bayou.
North Safford Revitalization Underway
Renovations of two commercial buildings and a new apartment development are enhancing the North Safford corridor and will bring new jobs and residents to the City.  The coriddor, along the Pinellas Trail, is one of the walkable links between Downtown and the Sponge Docks.
Flammer Ford Breaks Ground on New Commercial Addition
Karl Flammer Ford is constructing a 46,000 sq. ft. commercial service center at their dealership on US 19 in Tarpon Springs.  The new center will feature office space and 27 bays to provide greater support for local businesses.  The new center is expected to open in late fall 2019.
Welcome New Businesses:  Feel The Chill and Tropical Smoothie Cafe
The hot summer is coming, and to help cool you down, two new businesses that offer smoothies, frozen yogurt, and more opened in May.  Feel The Chill, 610 Athens St. on the Sponge Docks, is a colorful, unique shop that also offers bubble tea.  Tropical Smoothie Cafe, on US 19 in the former Starbucks building, offers a variety of smoothies along with sandwiches, flatbreads, bowls, and breakfast.
