U-M Opioid Summit speakers, moderators, and performers.

On May 10, 2019, hundreds of stakeholders convened in Ypsilanti, Mich., for a day-long summit, " Opioids: Policy to Practice," to discuss evidence-based approaches to address the nation's opioid crisis as part of a joint University of Michigan/Harvard University initiative. More than 350 people attended the summit in person, while around 250 across the U.S. and beyond participated via live webstream. More than 1,000 summit-related tweets were sent by 182 users and were seen by more than 791,000 Twitter users, with more than 8 million total views. We are now producing enduring materials from the summit that will preserve the presentations and key discussions for future audiences (watch for announcements of their availability), while our partners at Harvard prepare for the follow-up summit on October 10, 2019.

IHPI faculty, staff and families give back to the community

IHPI colleagues, friends, and family members worked with Give365 on May 4 for a day of clean-up through the Ann Arbor Parks & Recreation volunteer and outreach program. Part of the day was spent helping to beautify Southeast Area Park (on Ellsworth at Platt) by cleaning up litter, spreading wood chips on the playground, and cutting back brush. A big thank you to all the volunteers.
