MAHOPAC IS WORKING TO MAKE LEARNING APPLY TO REAL LIFE
LEGISLATORS, EDUCATORS, AND PARENTS ARE FOCUSED ON THE MENTAL & PHYSICAL health of students. Mahopac HS has partnered with the Office of Addiction Services and Supports to offer a substance abuse course that earns students close to 25% of credits needed for certification as a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor. Some students have a family background with substance abuse and some are just interested, but all learn about prevention, treatment and recovery of substance abuse.
