Dear friend in Christ,
"You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses ... to the ends of the earth." Acts 1:8
On June 9, when we celebrate Pentecost, the Easter season will come to an end. An end also marks a beginning, in this case a time to renew our commitment to making ourselves true witnesses to the Gospel message of love. The descent of the Holy Spirit was not a "one off" which happened in the past; rather, it is a sign of how we are constantly strengthened and supported by this Spirit, whose grace enables us to become the hands and feet of Christ in the world.
Being a witness isn't always easy. You will see that I speak from experience if you
read the blog I'm keeping as I come up to the 10th anniversary of profession.
Blessings on all of you as go out into the world witnessing in the power of the Spirit!
