Thy Kingdom Come: Presiding Bishop Joins Worldwide Anglican Communion Campaign Calling for Praye r
For the second year, Episcopal Church Presiding Bishop Michael Curry has joined the worldwide Anglican Communion in Thy Kingdom Come , a campaign initiated by Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby calling for prayer by individuals, congregations, and families.

Thy Kingdom Come is a global prayer movement that invites Christians around the world to pray between Ascension Day (May 10) and Pentecost (May 20) for more people to come to know Jesus.  Read more
DIOCESAN EVENTS
Bellwether Farm Summer Camp Registration is Now Open 
Bellwether Farm is offering 4 week long sessions (Sunday through Saturday) beginning July 8-August 4. Camp is available for elementary, jr. high, and high school aged youth. Youth and Family Work Day  
On May 12, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., parishes from across the diocese are welcome to come help at Bellwether Farm in the final stages of building our camp and retreat center. We will be focusing on farm work and putting 'final touches' on the buildings. 
Episcopal Community Services - New Initiatives Grant   
The Episcopal Community Services Advisory Board is inviting proposals from individual congregations or groups of congregations for projects that would start a new program or significantly leverage an existing program. These projects should be focused on addressing the systemic causes of a problem rather than those designed to provide direct services to treat the effects of the problem. These projects need to meet the ECS objective "to encourage liberation of those in need through education and through advocating for change in systems that create need." Grant requests are due by May 15. Submit applications to Antoinette Taylor at [email protected].  
Episcopal Community Services - Church Home (Cycle 1) Grants 
Church Home is an endowment that funds parish-based projects serving the elderly, administered by ECS. The grant application deadline is May 15. Submit applications to Antoinette Taylor at [email protected]. 
141st Annual ECW Meeting  
The 2018 Diocese of Ohio Annual ECW Meeting will be held at Bellwether Farm on Saturday, May 19. The keynote speaker will be Lisa Towle, President of the National Episcopal Church Women. We will also hear a presentation about sustainability at Bellwether Farm. Please see the schedule and registration form for additional information. Summer Grants Available for Youth 
The Mission Office has funds available to support summer children and youth programs up to $500.  The grant application deadline is May 31 
 
The Mission Office, via the Bishop's Annual Appeal, also has funds available to support youth mission trips, with an emphasis on those that involve youth from more than one parish.  Grant application deadline is May 31.

Teatime for Peace
On Thursday, May 10, Trinity Cathedral is hosting an interfaith conversation called Teatime for Peace. All are invited to come help break through the stereotypes over a cup of tea. Plan to gather between 6:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. The program will be from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Free parking will be located at 2227 Prospect Avenue. 2018 Mother's Day Bake Sale
On Saturday, May 12, from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Saint Timothy's, (8667 Shepard Road) Macedonia will have its third annual Mother's Day Bake Sale. There will be a variety of bakery items that were made in parishoners' own kitchens. Items will include pies, quiches, cakes, pastries, muffins, and cupcakes; all will be ready to give as a gift to mom or a special woman in a crisp white bakery box. High Tea at St. James
St. James, Painesville cordially invites you to an authentic English high tea featuring homemade sweets, sandwiches, and freshly brewed tea on Saturday, May 12 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. The group will be joined by the New York Times best-selling author Claire McMillan, who will be speaking on her newest novel, The Necklace. The event will have one-of-a-kind baskets to raffle off and baked items for sale, just in time for Mother's Day.

Brown Bag Concert
St. Paul's, Medina will host a Brown Bag Concert on May 15 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. The concert will feature Monica Berens and Will Jean with David Gooding on piano performing oldies but goodies in, "The Great American Song Book." Bring your own brown bag lunch or reserve one for $5.00 by calling 330.725.4131 at least one day prior to the concert. Coffee and tea will be provided. Free will donations are greatly appreciated.
Trinity Cathedral Brown Bag Concert Series - Joyous season finale
On Wednesday,   May 16, Trinity Chamber Orchestra with Dr. Horst Buchholz, guest conductor featuring Todd Wilson, organist and Nicole Keller, harpsichord will perform at Trinity Cathedral. The concert will begin at 12:00 p.m. Bring your own brown bag lunch or you may purchase one for $7.00. Free will donations are greatly appreciated. Royal Wedding Tea Benefit
Christ Church, Kent will celebrate the marriage of His Royal Highness Prince Harry of Wales and Miss Meghan Markle at a Royal Wedding Tea on Saturday, May 19 with seatings at 12:00 p.m., 1:00 p.m., and 2:00 p.m. The day will include photographs with a royal princess, children's activities, croquet on the lawn, basket raffle, and more. Reservations are required. Please RSVP to 330.322.1236. Cost is $20.00 for adults and $10.00 for children under 12. A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit Freedom House in Portage County and CANAPI in Akron.
Annual Cathedral Pilgrimage 
Youth (6th - 12th grade) are invited to Cathedral Pilgrimage 2018 on May 19 at Trinity Cathedral. The overnight event will begin at 10:00 a.m. and will conclude on May 20 at 11:00 a.m. Families of participating youth are invited to the 9:00 a.m. "Youth Sunday" worship service and the following 10:00 a.m. Pilgrimage closing ceremony. 

Our theme this year is "Life in Color" which will carry an uplifting and inclusive message throughout the event. The Pilgrimage will encourage youth to live into their unique character, gifts, and talents given to them by God, and to recognize the beautiful shades in all people they encounter.


The event cost is $45 per attendee (to help cover food, t-shirts, and programming materials). Programming will feature a service project at Trinity Urban Farm, inspiring talks, t-shirt decorating, a glow party, Cathedral games, movie screening, and more. John Reinheimer: A Celebration of Life and Ministry
The Rev. John Reinheimer served in the Episcopal Diocese of New Hampshire from 1975 until 2005 when he retired from full-time ministry. Since retiring, he has provided interim and supply services to parishes in the Diocese of Ohio, where he currently resides. Recently, he announced that he will be withdrawing completely from ministry in the Episcopal Church due to health concerns. In celebration of his life and ministry, St. Thomas, Port Clinton will be holding a reception for him following the 9:00 a.m. service on May 20. Recognizing the Spirit with The Rev. Martin Smith
On May 18-20 the Transfiguration Spirituality Center will host the Rev. Martin Smith. In this largely silent retreat, through meditations attendees will be encouraged to explore the signs of the Spirit in their lives, deepening their awareness of the ways the Holy Counselor prompts, stirs, attracts, defends, and guides them as they make their way through everyday life. The Rev. Martin L. Smith is widely known throughout the Episcopal Church and beyond for his ministry as a preacher, teacher, and retreat leader. His books which explore contemporary spirituality include: A Season for the Spirit, Reconciliation, The Word is Very Near You.

National Altar Guild Association Triennial Meeting
The National Altar Guild Association invites all interested members of parish altar guild to attend their triennial meeting held in Austin, Texas from July 5 to 12, during the time of General Convention. Come and be a part of the altar guild for the General Convention, attend workshops, hear Demi Prentiss speak on our calling as God "sends us out to do the work He has given us to do." Take a field trip to see the painted churches of Texas and enjoy the fellowship and sharing with altar guild members across the country. All are welcome.
