World Affairs Council of Greater Hampton Roads will be featured on local television station WTVZ's public affairs program, "
Our Issues Hampton Roads." The half-hour segment will feature an interview and discussion with
Rear Admiral USN (ret.) Larry Baucom, President of WAC Greater Hampton Roads (pictured).
The program will be available to more than 2 million viewers in Southeastern and Central Virginia and Northeastern North Carolina. Taping will occur
Wed., May 29, and will stress the important mission of World Affairs Councils throughout the United States and the impact of the Hampton Roads Council as it celebrates its 50th year of service to the local community.

Engage America
Future of Korea 2019 program series kicked off last week. The
World Affairs Council of St. Louis hosted
Jihyuan Lee, First Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Korea,
Timothy Johnson, Foreign Service Officer at the U.S. Department of State, and
Mark Tokola, Vice President of the Korea Economic Institute of America, for a two-day visit. While in St. Louis, the delegation shared their expertise on a panel discussing Korean policy, toured Boeing, and appeared on
KMOX radio's The Charlie Brennan Show.

MIT Solve Offers $1.5 Million in Funding to 2019 Challenge Team Winners
|
|
MIT Solve's
Community-Driven Innovation Challenge Leadership Group is a marketplace for social impact, and is focused on finding tech entrepreneurs from around the world to tackle global challenges and drive lasting, transformational change. In addition to the Community Driven Innovation track I am part of, there are 3 other challenges focusing on Early Childhood Development, Circular Economy and Healthy Cities.
MIT Solve has more than
$1.5 million in funding available for 2019 Solver teams. The deadline to post a solution is
July 1. Solve judging teams across the four categories will then pick the winning class that will be announced at
Solve event at the UN General Assembly this September. For more information and to submit a solution please visit the
