Message from the Chief

May 2018 was an extremely busy month for your American Canyon firefighters!

Firefighters were busy with training activities, public relations & education events, and of course responding to emergency incidents in the month of May 2018. With the vegetation fire in dry grass on the hill behind the Via Bellagio neighborhood it looks like the summer fire season is already upon us. The month of June commences our annual weed abatement inspection and enforcement program. Please help keep our community safe by keeping grass and weeds cut, brush trimmed and rubbish removed on your property throughout the dry season!
Notable Incident

On Monday, May 21, 2018, the American Canyon Fire Protection District responded to a grass fire on the hillside behind homes on Palazzo Way. The fire burned 13 acres which was technically in State Responsibility Area (“SRA” – Cal Fire jurisdiction). Cal Fire also responded to assist with fire suppression and fire investigation. No cause was determined. There was no property damage and no injuries.
