We are so glad you will be joining the Syracuse University community in around 2 months! Please remember to keep checking your syr.edu email account on a regular basis, since this is the only email account SU will use to communicate with you.
Course Selection & Registration

It's time to start thinking about course selection and registration for Fall 2019, but it's important to remember that every school or college does the registration process differently. You should have received a communication from your home school or college, via postal mail or your  syr.edu email with more information about the course selection and registration process. If you haven't received this communication, you should receive it shortly.

Click here for more information about  first-year course registration and  transfer student course registration.

The deadline for first-year students to complete the First Term Enrollment Selection process is  June 14. Each school or college has a different deadline for completing this process as a transfer student, so pay close attention to your school or college's deadline!

If you have questions about AP/IB exams, please  contact your home school or college.

Health History and Immunization Records

Deadline is Monday, July 1

New students cannot access housing assignments, class schedules, or parking and arrival passes until health history and immunization record forms have been submitted. Using your SU NetID username and password, log into the Patient Portal to submit the needed health history and immunization record forms.

In accordance with New York State law, the following immunization records must be submitted:
  • Two measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccinations
  • One Meningococcal meningitis vaccination, within the last five years and after the age of 16

You may acquire records by contacting your primary care physician or previous school or institution. The health and wellness team is available to assist students who have not been vaccinated or do not have vaccination records. For additional information, please contact the Medical Records Office at 315.443.2667.

Enroll or Waive the Student Health Insurance Plan
Deadline is Monday, September 16

Annually, all full-time students are required to demonstrate proof of qualifying health insurance coverage or enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan .

Using your SU NetID username and password, log into MySlice to access the enroll/waive form. Once logged in, navigate to the 'Student Services' section and under the 'Student Health Insurance' header, select the 'Health Insurance Enroll/Waive' option.

Failure to take action or receive an approved waiver by Monday, September 16, 2019, will result in automatic enrollment into the Student Health Insurance Plan. The Student Health Insurance Plan anticipated premium of $1,730 (subject to plan approval by New York State) is applied to your Bursar's Office bill and will be removed with proof of qualifying coverage.

For additional information, please email the Student Health Insurance Office or visit the  Student Health Insurance site .

Paying Your SU Bill

The  Tuition, Fees and Related Policies Bulletin outlines the University's costs and policies. Please note that this may be updated throughout the summer.

Here is a brief summation of the business cycle:
  • The billing schedule and a Monthly Payment Plan application can be found online.
  • To confirm the fall/spring registrations, your Bursar student account must be current. This means either paid or covered by anticipated financial aid (aid that has been awarded but not disbursed). Otherwise, please be sure you have confirmation from our office that an agreed upon plan for payment has been established.
Please feel free to contact us by email at  [email protected] or visit the  Bursar's Office website, where you may find the answers to your questions.

Submit Your I.D. Card Photo

Upload your photo by July 15 and your I.D. card will be ready for you when you check-in to your residence hall or from the Housing, Meal Plan, and I.D. The Legend of #44

Since 1954, nine football players have worn the #44; three earned All-American honors (Jim Brown, Ernie Davis, and Floyd Little). In basketball, two players (Derrick Coleman and John Wallace) wearing the same number broke scoring records. To reflect the importance of #44, the University's zip code changed to 13244 and phone prefixes to 442 and 443.
