Girls Lead YYC Returns!
If more girls saw themselves as leaders, what kind of difference could they make?

At the Women's Centre we know girls are already leaders, and Girls Lead YYC is a program for girls to discover the leadership skills they already have, while learning new ones.

Girls Lead YYC is a free, weekly program for girls in Grades 10 - 12 to build confidence, connect with peers, and learn how to create meaningful social change based on their individual skills and abilities. We're excited to announce the second installment of Girls Lead YYC will run at the Women's Centre on Thursday evenings this summer, taking place every Thursday between July 4 and August 8 from 6-8 pm.

We are inviting high-school aged girls of all backgrounds to join us in this program. We recognize leadership takes on many different forms, so whether you are a girl who has years of experience working to lead in your community, or are interested in connecting with a group of inspiring girls, Girls Lead YYC is for you! We're looking for girls who want to build community, connect with others, and learn how to work on things they care about.

If you're a girl passionate about leadership, or you're simply interested in connecting with a group of inspiring girls, Girls Lead YYC is for you. Share with a girl in your life today! Click here to learn more or apply. Girls or parents with questions about the program can also contact Grace Millar, Girls Leadership Coordinator, at [email protected] or 403-264-1155.

In a society where voters turn towards the angriest candidates or tune out completely, there is growing cynicism about democracy.

Hear from one of Canada's most persuasive "rabble rousers," on how to rebuild democracy in a free event on Saturday, June 8 - 7 - 8:30 p.m. at the New Central Library.

Dave Meslin believes we can transform a culture of disengagement into a culture of participation where everyone feels they can make a difference. Click here for more information or to RSVP.
