We're Engaging Future Leaders
The deadline to apply for JA Career Bound is June 29!
Parents - don't miss the opportunity for your high school students to be better prepared for the future!

100% of the students who participated in JA Career Bound:

... expressed an increase in confidence as a leader.
... are better prepared for the workforce by learning soft skills.
... stated what they learned will help them be successful in life.

JA Career Bound is an 8-month cutting-edge, skills-building leadership program where select high school sophomore and junior students learn the skills necessary to succeed in today's workforce. After an opening retreat, students meet once a month for program days focused on specific industries.

Students visit some of South Florida's premier businesses to learn firsthand about the career opportunities and what companies are looking for in future employees. Students learn from top executives who share their journeys to success.

We use interactive JA curriculum to teach key work skills, including communication, critical thinking, goal setting, interviewing, personal branding, problem solving, public speaking, resume building and teamwork.

At the end of the year, students will have the opportunity to put their skills into action by participating in various paid internships with job shadowing.

The cost to participate is $600, including a $50 deposit.

If you are interested in participating, please contact Elexcy Morrison at (954) 979-7106 or email [email protected].

Citrix Donates $10,000 to Support the 2018-19 JA Fellows Program

Jeroen van Rotterdam, Senior Vice President of Engineering at Citrix, served as one of the sharks at the JA Fellows Spark Tank Finale in April.

Thank you Citrix Systems for financially supporting next year's JA Fellows program! JA Fellows is an in-depth, highly intensive leadership and entrepreneurship program for high school students. Students gain real-world business experience by working in groups of 20-25, conceptualizing, capitalizing, and managing their own small businesses, Throughout this real life entrepreneurship experience, students develop communication, financial management, problem solving, collaboration and time management skills, just to name a few.

At year end, companies participate in a local competition for scholarships, monetary awards, and a chance to compete in a national competition in Washington, D.C. in June.

The late Edward Iacobucci, co-founder of Citrix, completed the JA Fellows program (when it was still called the JA Company Program), so having this support is extra meaningful, as we pass the torch of entrepreneurial spirit to the next generation through this program.   Learn more about Citrix at  www.citrix.com
