Worship With Us
It’s time for Jesus to ascend! He has been appearing to the disciples and others since the resurrection but now it’s Ascension Day. Jesus rises into the sky to be with God. What did this mean then? What does it mean for us today? Join us for worship this Sunday morning at 10am! Our scripture passages are two angles of the Ascension story – Luke 24:44-53 and Acts 1:1-11. Our sermon is entitled Hand Lifting. As always, we invite you to invite others to come with you!

Last Sunday, Evelyn Buretta, a PUCCer and US Veteran, shared a Mission Moment about Holy Joe’s Café . This Memorial Day Weekend, consider offering a financial gift and look for other ways to remember the past and offer support to those currently serving in the US Military.

When you sign your name on the pew pad this Sunday, please consider letting us know your top three hymns and songs from the red hymnal and blue songbook.
Holy Joe’s Café
Since 2006, Holy Joe’s Café has been sending free fair trade coffee to U.S. military bases around the world. Our mission is simple: serving a little bit of home to those who serve our country.

From our humble beginning collecting cans of coffee in a UCC church in Wallingford, Connecticut, we've grown to serve billions of cups of coffee and helped open over 300 coffee houses throughout the world, mainly in the Middle East but also in places like Africa, Europe, and even on board Navy ships and in NATO military hospitals.

General Synod is around the corner—and up the street… June 21-25 in Milwaukee. It’s the event that takes place every two years in the summer—lay leaders and clergy from across the denomination get together to discern the work of the church, delight in one another’s company and BE the church… www.synod2019.org/en/uccsynod2019

Keynote Speaker Matthew Desmond, the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City , will transform our understanding of eviction as a root cause of poverty.*

During the month of July, PUCC will offer a few opportunities to talk about Evicted and imagine what we might do about this crisis—because stable housing is St Louis’ problem as well. Books will be available for purchase here at church in early May—or you can pick one up on your own.

What does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? ~ Micah 6:8

Inspiration
On Memorial Day, I don't want to only remember the combatants. There were also those who came out of the trenches as writers and poets, who started preaching peace, men and women who have made this world a kinder place to live. ~Eric Burdon

Please consider signing up to read scripture this spring or summer.
