Buprenorphine/naloxone, oral - corrected notification
 
AHCCCS has recently approved the use of Buprenorphine/naloxone, oral through the Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Block Grant (SABG) and Title XIX. The SABG and Title XIX supports primary prevention services and treatment services for members with substance use disorders (SUD). It is used to plan, implement and evaluate activities to prevent and treat SUD.: 

The following codes have been added to Provider Type 77 (Behavioral Health Outpatient Clinic) and Provider Type IC (Integrated Clinic) and will be available for use with a retroactive effective date of January 1, 2018:
 
  • J0571 - Buprenorphine, oral, 1 mg
  • J0572 - Buprenorphine/naloxone, oral, less than or equal to 3 mg
  • J0573 - Buprenorphine/naloxone, oral, greater than 3 mg, but less than or equal to 6 mg
  • J0574 - Buprenorphine/naloxone, oral, greater than 6 mg, but less than or equal to 10 mg
  • J0575 - Buprenorphine/naloxone, oral, greater than 10 mg
AHCCCS will be adding these HCPCS codes to the AHCCCS Covered Behavioral Health Services Guide.  GMH/SA providers will be able to submit billing within 30 days.
