Focus Collaborative Meetings
This year, CCAoNH powered by Southern New Hampshire Services is offering Virtual Early Childhood Focus Collaborative Meetings for Directors, Administrators, Teachers and other Early Childhood Professionals. These Meetings are group-driven to reflect the participant’s needs and interests and to provide participants with information around the focused topics. In addition, participants will learn about Child Care Aware of NH program updates, essential local and State information along with other professional development opportunities.

Family Engagement and Communication

Topic: This month, Janis Lilly, M. Ed, will be joining us. Janis will be presenting part 2 of a 2 part training on Working Well with Co-Parents and Parallel Parents. Join us for a discussion about the differences between co-parenting and parallel parenting; with tips and tricks for your professional toolbox, so you can help families keep the children in the center of the picture.

Topic: This month, we will explore USDA’s guidelines for feeding young children. We will look further into the CACFP nutrition program and how to best support learning through meal and snack times. Participants are asked to bring a child-friendly recipe to share with other participants to take back to their programs.

Topic: This month, participants will partake in a Learn & Share session around Technology and Software used within the program. During this meeting, participants are asked to come ready to share about the technology they use with other participants.

Topic: This month, Anya Gendal, Children’s Integrated Services Family Support Home Visitor from The Family Place; Steven H. Chapman, M.D., Medical Director from Boyle Community Pediatrics Program at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Children’s Hospital; Wilma Hyde, APRN, Pediatrics from Speare Memorial Hospital; and Melony Williams, Clinical Supervisor from TLC Family Resource Center will be joining us. Anya, Melony, Steven and Wilma will be answering questions related to infant and toddler health, behaviors and overall well-being.

Topic: This month, Jeanine Fitzgerald, certified Human Behavior Consultant and Specialist and Owner of The Fitzgerald Institute of Lifelong Learning, will be joining us to present on the topic: Teaching Self-Regulation to Young Children. Jeanine will examine self-regulatory functions through a developmental lens and offer proven strategies to develop and strengthen them.

Topic: This month, we will focus on helping children understand routines and schedules. We will look at the ways you can structure your day to help children with success. We will examine various picture and object schedules to find ones that fit your needs. We will also talk about ways to support children’s transitions during the day. This collaborative offers extended learning opportunities in between sessions.

Topic: This month, Kimberly Wesler, Early Childhood Specialist from Amoskeag Health, will be joining us. Kimberly will be presenting on LAUNCH Manchester Early Learning Collaborative and will discuss how they strive to promote positive behavioral health for NH’s expectant families and children through age 8. Their focus is on building strong social and emotional skills for children in addition to physical and cognitive development.

Topic: This month, Lisa Piccolo, Lead Training and Technical Assistance Coordinator from Southern New Hampshire Services, Child Care Aware of New Hampshire will be joining us. Lisa will talk to us about the Environment Rating Scales and how these apply to Montessori classrooms.

Topic: This month, Susan Cloutier and Courtney Mitchell from Southern New Hampshire Services, Child Care Aware of New Hampshire will be presenting a training on an Introduction to ERS. This training will provide basic information on the Environment Rating Scales, how to use the tools and the benefits of using the tools in your classrooms and program.
