A Message from the Principal...
Dear St. Louis Families,

Commencement... the beginning! The week ahead will be full of commencement exercises for St. Louis School. Our Kindergarteners will be sharing their year with families and friends through song and poem! Our 8th graders will celebrate through the Mass and then with a final awards ceremony, knowing that they are ready for the high school years ahead of them. Our graduates will be leaving us for Bishop Ireton High School, Foxcroft School (Middleburg), Gonzaga College High School, Georgetown Visitation, Hayfield High School, John Paul the Great High School, Mt. Vernon High School, O'Connell High School, Regis Jesuit High School (Colorado), St. Augustine High School (San Diego), Thomas Edison High School, Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology and West Potomac High School. I look forward to celebrating with them on Tuesday and will be sure to share that we are all praying for them, knowing that they will go on to do great things.

We are down to the final days!  Besides 8th graders who finish up school on Monday and our Kindergarteners who have their last day on Tuesday, remember that next Friday, June 15th is our last day of school for grades 1 - 7, with an 11:30am dismissal (there is no afternoon EDC on that day). For those of you who are wondering when the 2018-19 school calendar will be published... it will be sent out electronically by June 22nd. Watch your email for that constant contact as well as the posting on our school website!

Many blessings as you head into another busy weekend of end-of-the-year activities!

Kathleen McNutt
Principal

Over the past month our counseling team, Mrs. Jen Cotnoir and Mrs. Donna Zientek, have initiated and facilitated the creation of a beautiful praise rock garden in front of the school. The students and faculty have been painting rocks, many of which include words of praise and faith, and then placing them into the cross-shaped garden. The students voted to name the space "Garden of Faith", and it was blessed today after 8:45am Mass by our pastor, Fr. Keith O'Hare.

Weekly Prayer Intentions
Each day our school community prays for the intentions of our families. This week the following families were included in our prayers: Melka, Nghiem, Najafzadeh, Noone, Orr, Paulus, Racines, Reiber, Reilly and Robertson.

Reminder: Policy on Posting Photos
We are grateful for the many parents who have volunteered to work the field day events and class picnics and will be attending upcoming graduations. Please remember that you should not be posting photos of children other than your own on social media. We have some students whose parents have signed official forms with the provision that no photo of their child will be posted or used in the media. This falls under social media as well as in advertisements and marketing tools.
Medications in Nurse's Clinic
Medications in the Nurse's Clinic must be picked up by a parent/guardian no later than dismissal on the last day of school. In accordance with school and diocesan policy, medications cannot be stored in the clinic and will be destroyed if not picked up by a parent. If you are not planning on picking up your medication and wish the nurse to dispose of it, please send an email to [email protected].
