Usually April showers bring May flowers, but when the showers are in May...all bets are off! It's finally started raining kittens, though, so if you've been waiting to bring one into your home, stop by and take a peek at our new friends (talk about bundles of joy!). There are plenty of puppies, too, for those of the canine persuasion (as if you needed persuading!). But enough with the asides! We're anxious to get outside and start meeting people around town. There are a plethora of events coming up, including our popular June Yappy Hour Series...grab a friend, leash up your pups, and come have a great time with us!
A Wagging Good Time
Spend a beautiful day with your dog in Livermore Valley Wine Country on June 2 during Wine & Wags. More than 20 dog-friendly wineries will open their doors from 12 - 4:30 pm for wine tasting, special events, pet adoption and more. Visit our booth at Darcie Kent Vineyards, Page Mill Winery, or Wente Vineyards and purchase your raffle ticket for the chance to win a Celebrity Cruise for Two or other prizes. Critter Camp Now Enrolling
Critter Camp starts June 10, and we are gearing up for the excitement! This year's sessions are led by Laura Van Wagner, who joined our team last year as Humane Education Coordinator. Each camp is a fun week filled with cats, dogs, crafts and age-appropriate activities for kids age 6-14. Leadership positions for teens age 15-17 are also available, with applications due May 31. Enroll your child today to be part of this popular humane adventure!
Pet Food Drive
Valley Humane Society is pleased to partner with the Alameda County Fair to help dogs and cats all over the East Bay. On Wednesday, June 19, earn a free fair admission and $1 rides when you bring a new, unopened item from the donation list. The Pet Food Drive starts at 11 am and lasts until 5 pm.
