More Than $2,700 Raised by
'70 for 70' Club Members, So Far
We applaud the 70 members who have led the Mississippi Academy of Family Physicians over the 70 years we have grown as an Academy.  Each of them has taken on the responsibility of leading the state's largest medical specialty association while also managing the duties of a busy medical practice.

The '70 for 70' Club was established to help celebrate our milestone anniversary, remember our outstanding leaders and help build our Foundation. Help us honor one (or several) of these outstanding physicians by giving a donation to the MAFP Foundation in their name!

Here's how it works: MAFP members are invited to donate $70 to the MAFP Foundation in honor of one or more of the 70 presidents of the MAFP, listed below. It takes a minimum of $70 to honor one past president, and donations in multiples of $70 to honor more than one past president.

All donations will benefit MAFP Foundation's scholarship and educational programs. Please use our online donation form.
Donors will continue to be recognized in the journal, in this newsletter and other Academy materials.

HPV Vaccines:  Online Resources
The HPV vaccine has the ability to save so many lives, yet has the lowest usage rate. Let's change that!  New resources available for physicians about HPV vaccination:
  • Check out the new Guide to Promote HPV Vaccination, just published by the National HPV vaccination Roundtable. The 11-page full color guide gives tips and strategies, and can easily be printed out for your staff.
  • There's a new app called 'HPV: Same Way, Same Day' aimed at teaching physicians how to improve HPV vaccine rates. Earn 1 hour CME credit by attending a free webinar Tuesday, May 21, at 2 pm Central. Free Webinar Info.
  • Online Self-Study Guide on "Vaccine Safety" that details how safe and effective the HPV vaccine is. Physicians can get 1 hour of credit upon completing the study guide.
