EGSA Welcomes New Education Director, Nathan Harris
Meet EGSA’s new Education Director, Nathan Harris! Nathan is fourth generation military. He served active duty in the US Marine Corps for 11 years as a 6073 Aircraft Maintenance Support Equipment (SE) Electrician. During his time in the military he taught at multiple schools that included the Staff Non-Commissioned Officers Academy at Marine Corps Base Hawaii and the Naval Air Technical Training Center at NAS Pensacola, where earned his Master Training Specialist certification. After his service, Nathan went on to work as a Curriculum Design & Training Specialist for a non-profit in Hollywood, FL. From there, Nathan moved on to serve as the Senior Instructional Designer for Spirit AeroSystems in Wichita, KS. Nathan has a Bachelor in Workforce Education & Development from Southern Illinois University and a Master’s in Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University.
From a professional standpoint, Nathan’s experience focuses on instructor led training, creating online courseware, and all aspects of Technical Training administration. In his free time, Nathan enjoys spending time with his wife and two bulldogs, going to the beach, and watching movies. He is also a big sports fan and loves to travel, having visited every state except Alaska.
Coming on the heels of Michael Pope’s long and illustrious career as EGSA Education Director, it’s safe to say that Nathan has some big shoes to fill. However, we are confident he will rise to the challenge! EGSA welcomes Nathan to our team and we wish him all the best.

Standby and stand up: On-Site Power Pavilion featuring EGSA happening at POWERGEN
On-site, standby and emergency power generators have been a crucial part of the electricity mix dating back to the 19
th
century.
They now serve as indispensable backup for microgrids, hospitals, military bases, police stations and, now more than ever, data centers.
They are moving more into the decentralized energy landscape as reciprocating engines offer load following abilities and burn cleaner than coal-fired power plants.
In addition, they are stepping up their presence at POWERGEN International this November in New Orleans. The Electrical Generating Systems Association (EGSA) is hosting the
On-Site Power Pavilion
on the PGI exhibition floor.
