Dear Friends,

We would like to say THANK YOU to our members, board of directors, funders, school partners, teachers, students and larger arts and humanities education community of practice, for contributing to an amazing school year! Due to the excellent programs offered by Collaborative members and their continued commitment to serve DC students, we will reach more than 50,000 students together this school year. As we come down the home stretch from this school year and prepare for the next one, the DC Collaborative team would like to express our sincerest gratitude to the community. Together, we've made  our collaborative stronger with the work of Any Given Child DC and the Programming Committee and were able to provide more experiences in the arts and humanities to more students than ever before.

This newsletter contains:
  • Upcoming events for members, including our Gratitude themed meeting at The Kreeger Museum on June 4 and Connecting to Curriculum Workshops,
  • More info about how to participate in the Arts and Humanities for Every Student program in the 2019-2020 School Year,

May AHFES Update
Participate in AHFES 2019-2020!
Submit your programs for the 2019-2020 school year TODAY!
Even though it is only May, the Collaborative is already starting to think about our AHFES program for next year! Programs offered through AHFES provide students with concrete, engaging learning experiences that bring standards and curriculum to life. We could not do the work of reaching nearly 50,000 students annually without your excellent arts and humanities education programming. The DC Collaborative is inspired by your work and looks forward to another year of ensuring equitable access to the nation's best arts and humanities education programming with you.
As an active dues-paying member of the Collaborative, you can use the AHFES program to promote your existing programs. We will assist with marketing to DC public and charter schools, teacher registrations, communications, transportation and assessment. To participate in the 2019-2020 school year, please complete the appropriate form(s) below, submitting one per program.

Submit your programs!
Program information is due by COB on June 28th for the annual AHFES Review. Otherwise, program information should be submitted no later than one month before each lottery cycle.
AHFES Fees:  New! Replacing the previous AHFES Application fee of $50 per program, this year the DC Collaborative will be implementing an admin fee for each program offered through AHFES. All providers will be charged an administrative fee of 10% of the total transportation costs of your program. More info .
Questions? Please contact  katherine@dccollaborative.org  if you have any questions regarding your program offerings or how AHFES works. We hope you will attend one of our upcoming Connecting to Curriculum events as you plan your 2019-2020 programs!

DC is the Field-trip Capital of the World... And, as you may know, we are quite the field-trip experts, as we have been serving cultural institutions, students and teachers in the District with our Arts and Humanities for Every Student program for 21 years. The Collaborative fulfills its mission in providing equitable access to arts and humanities opportunities by utilizing a selective lottery model for registration. Additionally, we have serviced the majority of the grantees on the District Arts and Humanities Initiative (DAHI) Field Trip Experiences grant for the past three years.

Working with the Collaborative to help service your Field Trip Experiences grant is a guarantee that your programs will reach the students in DC who need access to these opportunities the most.
