  USRCC Trade Mission to Russia

The U.S.-Russia Chamber of Commerce (USRCC) invites you to participate in a Trade mission to the  St. Petersburg International Economic Forum . Participants will have an opportunity to meet Russian government officials and some of the most influential leaders in U.S.-Russia trade and investment relations. The USRCC will coordinate private meetings, an exclusive CEO Roundtable and introductions, in addition to attending the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPEIF).

Participating companies will gain market insights, make industry contacts, solidify business strategies, find business partners, and advance specific projects with the goal of increasing U.S. trade and investment to Russia.

LUKOIL COMPLETES INSTALLATION OF WELLHEAD PLATFORM TOPSIDE AT KORCHAGIN FIELD

Lukoil.com, April 27, 2018: LUKOIL has completed the installation of the wellhead platform's topside as part of Yury Korchagin field Phase 2 development in the Russian sector of the Caspian Sea.
The wellhead platform is a satellite platform designed to drill wells in the eastern part of the field. Drilling at Phase 2 is expected to start in May, 2018.
Apart from the process equipment, the platform is equipped with the safety systems, living quarters for the personnel's temporary stay and a helideck. As most of the operations are automated, only eight workspaces are designed for the temporary stay of the personnel.  Read more...
Gazprom and LUKOIL Review Prospects of Strategic Partnership

Oilvoice.copm, April 25, 2018: A working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, and Vagit Alekperov, President of LUKOIL, took place in St. Petersburg today.
The parties discussed the current matters of interest and further avenues for cooperation within the General Agreement on Strategic Partnership.
Gazprom and LUKOIL are bound by the 2014-2024 General Agreement on Strategic Partnership, pursuant to which, among other things, LUKOIL supplies gas into Gazprom's gas transmission system. The parties also take part in the development of the Tsentralnoye field in the Caspian Sea.  Read more...

One of the world's longest gas pipelines from Russia to China almost complete

Rt.com, April 25, 2018: The construction of the 3,000km Power of Siberia gas pipeline or the eastern route, which is aimed to deliver Russian gas to China, will be completed by the end of the year.
The announcement was made by Deputy Chairman of Gazprom Management Committee Vitaly Markelov, who said: "By 2019, we plan to eliminate technical gaps after testing."
The Power of Siberia pipeline is one of the biggest projects between Russia and China. Analysts say it could help Russia become one of China's main providers of natural gas as demand in the country increases.  Read more...
Iran, Russia, Pakistan to hold joint security conference

Azernews.az, April 26, 2018: Iran, Russia and Pakistan have agreed to hold a joint security conference with participation of other regional countries.
The agreement was achieved during a meeting of Ali Shamkhani and Nikolai Patrushev secretaries of National Security Council of Iran and Russia and Nasser Khan Janjua, Pakistan's National Security Advisor in Russia, Sochi on April 26, the state-run IRINN TV reported.
The sides also agreed to continue the joint negotiations and hold talks with other Asian countries to invite them to attend the security conference.
The three top security officials agreed to continue their consultations and hold talks with other countries of the region and invite them to attend multilateral security meeting.  Read more...
Growth of wood pellet production in Russia by 34.1% in 2017 will continue at a rapid pace in the coming years

Lesprom.com, April 26, 2018: Favorable export markets in 2017 formed a steady growing demand for the main wood based products in Russia, according to the report 'Russian Forest Based Industries in 2017'. At the same time, the turn of the Russian economy from a recession to growth (GDP grew by 1.5%) led to a revival of demand for products aimed at the domestic market.In 2017, Russia sharply increased the import of woodworking machines (+ 60.7%) after a decline in 2016 by 15.6%. This may indicate that the wood processing companies have adapted to the current exchange rate of the national currency. Investments in fixed assets in the production of paper and paper products increased by 33.3%, and in wood processing (excluding furniture production) - by 5.5%.The process of changing the structure of exports from raw materials to wood processing products continues: in 2017, log exports from Russia decreased by 1.6% with an increase in lumber exports by 10.1%. The largest external consumer of Russian forest products is China. In 2017 the share of the country in the Russian exports of logs was 66%, in the exports of lumber - 55%, in the supply of pulp - 58%.  Read more...
Russia's UTair completes Mil Mi-8AMT deliveries

Rusaviainsider.com, April 27, 2018: Russian Helicopters delivered final two Mil Mi-8AMTs to UTair-Helicopter Services, completing an order for eight multipurpose helicopters placed last June.
UTair, Russia's largest civil helicopter operator, plans to use them for passenger and cargo transportation in the interests of clients from oil and gas industry, the manufacturer and the airline said in a joint statement. With latest addition, company's Mi-17 family fleet (which includes Mi-8AMT) grew to 112 helicopters.
The rotorcraft produced by Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant are equipped with external auxiliary fuel tanks to increase range for longer missions. The navigation system has been enhanced with a BMS-indicator satellite navigation system.  Read more...
Demand for Russian wheat drives export prices to three-year high

Rt.com, April 25, 2018: Average prices for wheat produced by Russian farmers have increased to $215 per ton, according to Moscow-based agricultural markets research firm SovEcon. The figure marks the highest level since the 2014-2015 agricultural season.
According to analysts' estimates, Russia exported 1.6 million tons of grains, including 1.2 million tons of wheat, as of April 18. As a comparison, during the previous week, Russian farmers sold 800,000 tons of grain abroad, including 600,000 tons of wheat.
The growth of the quoted price is reportedly triggered by effective demand from importers. Another driver is a decrease in domestic market supply in the southern exporting regions.  Read more...
Dominican Republic increases exports to Russia

Freshplaza.com, April 20, 2018: "In recent years Russia has been demanding more products from all over the world, some companies saw the opportunity to export and make investments. The demand for produce and tourists arriving to the country encourage Russian air lines to start with routes to the Dominican Republic and realized the growth and that good returns on investment can be made", explains Cesar Perez who is a producer and exporter from the Dominican Republic. 
He explains that the Russian market is looking for alternative supplying countries. "The Russian and European market have been constantly growing over the years. We believe they are looking for opportunities to supply the national markets by importing from other countries. For example Latin America, Peru, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Colombia and also the Dominican Republic. During each exhibition where we are present we see a growing number of Russian visitors that are interested in doing business."  Read more...
Azerbaijan plans to triple export to Russia within five years - minister

Tass.com, April 23, 2018: Azerbaijan plans to triple exports to Russia within the next five years, the country's Economy Minister Shahin Mustafayev said following the talks with his Russian counterpart Maxim Oreshkin on Monday.
"We plan to raise exports of Azerbaijani products to Russia three-fold within the next five years. This is our goal, which we discussed at the talks with the Russian side," he said, adding that Baku had informed Moscow about a five-year production plan for the Russian side to "consider it in export and import operations."  Read more...
First large-scale French Fries production plant in Russia inaugurated

Potatopro.com, April 25, 2018: Today, a new potato processing plant was officially opened in Lipetsk by Ivan Lebedev, State Secretary and Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, and by Oleg Korolev, head of the executive branch of the Lipetsk region.
This first Russian large-scale French fries production facility was built by a Joint Venture of the Russian Belaya Dacha Group and Lamb Weston / Meijer, a world leader in potato processing.
The construction of this plant was subsidized by the Russian State Program for Agriculture Development.  Read more...

Медведев заявил о высоком росте несырьевого экспорта

Eadaily.com, 25 апреля, 2018: По итогам 2017 года возрос российский экспорт продукции приоритетных отраслей - это автомобиле- и авиастроение, производство железнодорожной и сельхозтехники, а также аграрной продукции. Об этом сегодня, 25 апреля, заявил премьер-министр Дмитрий Медведевна заседании президиума Совета при президенте России по стратегическому развитию и приоритетным проектам.
«2017 год стал важным по экспорту, - сказал глава правительства. - Впервые с 2013 года после нескольких лет снижения мы зафиксировали рост несырьевого неэнергетического экспорта. В цифрах это 22% в годовом исчислении, более $ 133,7 млрд. Важно, что высокий рост сохраняется и в этом году. Минсельхоз хочет создать реестр экспортеров

Agroinvestor.ru, 26 апреля, 2018: Минсельхоз выступает за формирование единого реестра экспортеров, заявил министр сельского хозяйства Александр Ткачев. «Нам нужен единый реестр экспортеров, и каждое предприятие должно иметь сертификат здоровья - документ, который подтверждает, что продукция, приходящая на экспорт, качественная, экологически чистая и отвечающая всем стандартам», - цитирует главу агроведомства ТАСС. По мнению Ткачева, формирование такого реестра должно быть частью комплекса мер по развитию сельхозэкспорта.  Читать далее...
