Word of the Week
May 16, 2019

From The Pastor

Many Thanks!

Kim and I would like to extended our sincerest appreciation to all of you who have prayed for, offered medical equipment, offered food, cards and well-wishes during Kim's recent foot surgery! So far she is doing very well with her parents here for the next week taking very good care of her. It means a lot to have such a loving, caring and praying church family surrounding our family during this time. Kim's recovery will be a slow process, which is no surprise considering the extensive surgery she had done! (By the way, I have pictures that were taken during the procedure if you want to see them! :) Please continue to pray for a quick and successful healing!

Thanks also to Pastor Gary for preaching this Sunday! He will be continuing our series, "Living in the Resurrection." I will return next week as we celebrate our graduates and military heroes on Memorial Day weekend! Thanks again for all you do, and remember how much I love you!

From Pastor Gary

A "BIG" thank you to everyone for the birthday cards and wishes. The singing of Happy Birthday in the second service was very "Mormon Tabernaclish." Friday (my official birthday) through Sunday will be spent doing home work (Due June 1) for my three classes coming up in July.

Thanks again everyone, Harvester is a great place to celebrate life!

Go and Make Disciples!

Peace,
Pastor Gary

The Pink Flamingo is Flying!

This is a fundraiser for our youth group. The Pink Flamingo has begun its journey through our Harvester Family. If you find the "bird" on your lawn, you are encouraged to take an envelope from the coffee can on its back and make a donation of any amount to our youth the very next Sunday. Inside the can you will also find a list of names and addresses of our Harvester Family. Make sure your name is crossed out (so you don't get it again!), and then decide whose home you will plant the bird next! If you get caught by the family while you are in the process, you will need to pay a $5 fine in their name, and then take it to another home where you will hopefully not get caught again! This is obviously meant to be a fun activity for our church as our youth seek to defray the cost of this year's summer camps and conferences. Thank you for your support!!!

We will be celebrating Harvester's High School and College Graduates on Sunday, May 26th at the 11am worship. If you or a member of your family are graduating this year, please forward a photo and provide the following information to the church office (harvesterumc@verizon.net) by May 19th: name of graduate, school graduating from, and degree.

VBS Donations Needed

Stop by the rolling bulletin board outside of the sanctuary and take a yellow post it note or two! We need everything from used CD's to M&M's. Please bring back the item/s before June 9! Thank you so much for your contributions.

Roof Campaign Update
from Debbi Isom

First year down and 2 to go! WOW! Praise be to God! We met the first year goal of $7,700 and slightly exceeded it so we are off to a super start for 2019! The weekly goal is $1 each Sunday per member. That's $52 a year. Some pay the whole year at once while others pay weekly or monthly. Either way it all adds up to the goal. Check out the model on the table outside the sanctuary to see the progress. Each post-it note roof tile equates to $100 raised for the new roof. We are so grateful to everyone for making the first year a success! The body of Christ at Harvester is doing great things to grow God's kingdom. Amen!

Thank you to this weeks Ground Hogs Keith Swan, Simon FitzPatrick and Tom Herrin for keeping the grounds mowed and looking beautiful. We appreciate all of you!

Thank you to Lloyd Evans, Denny Johnson and George Alexander for helping out with various projects around the church. Thanks for all you do!

Thank you to George Alexander and Gary Holsopple for mounting the new TV in Fellowship Hall. It looks great!

Thank you to everyone helping in the Welcome Center on Sunday mornings! We appreciate you making coffee, setting up snacks and cleaning up after the 11am worship! You are all wonderful servants.

Thank you to Joanie Einemann for helping out in the church office each week. You are a blessing!
