The end of the school year marks an important time to recognize and thank our teachers who are retiring after many years of service to the Wilson School District.   We thank each of these educators for their dedication and commitment to our students.  Remember, that you are not just retiring from teaching. You are retiring from one of the most important jobs in the world- helping young minds to dream big!  Congratulations on your retirement. We wish you years of happiness as you enter this new stage in your life!

Attention, Please!

Last Day of School- June 8!
The last day of school for the 2017-2018 academic year is TOMORROW, Friday, June 8, which will also be an early dismissal.   Early dismissal times are as follows:  Secondary students (Grades 6-12) will be dismissed at 11:00am; Elementary students will be dismissed at 11:45am.  Please note that the District Administration Office will be open during the summer Monday- Thursday from 7:30 am- 4:00 pm.
REMINDER:  Payment of Outstanding Food Service/ Technology Fees
With the school year coming to an end, we want to remind all of our families that if you have any outstanding balances for either your food services or technology accounts, please take the time to pay them now.

Wilson High School Ranked #34 Best High School in PA 
by US News and World Report
Congratulations to the students, staff, and administrators at Wilson High School on earning silver medal and a ranking of #34 in the recent US News and World Report list of Best High Schools in PA. Schools are ranked based on their performance on state-required tests and how well they prepare students for college.  We are proud of your efforts that resulted in this high ranking!

Cub Scout Pack 423 is Celebrating 60 Years!

Cub Scout Pack 423 from Lower Heidelberg Township and sponsored by St Johns' (Hain's Church),  cordially invites the community to join them as they celebrate 60 years! Pack 423 is one of the oldest, continuous Packs in Berks County and has served the community for seven decades! To celebrate this milestone, a celebration event will be held on Saturday, July 21 beginning at 1 pm at the Hain's Church picnic grove.  There will be games and events throughout the day, and then in the evening, attendees can pitch a tent, roast marshmallows or make s'mores with the Scouts! On  Sunday, July 22  at  8:30 am, we will having an outdoor worship service.

If you would like to learn more about the Preschool and Child Care Services offered at Berkshire Heights Early Learning Center, we invite you to join us at one of our Preschool Open Houses, where you can tour the facility and meet the staff.

Camps and Clinics

Wilson Football Kicking/ Punting Evaluation Camp

Wilson Football will be holding a preliminary place kicking/punting evaluation camp on  Saturday, June 16th from 9:00 AM to noon  at Gurski Stadium.  The camp is open to rising Wilson School District Freshman through Seniors.  


The session is free of charge and will be conducted by current Varsity football coaches and former Wilson place kickers.  Prior place kicking or soccer experience is encouraged but not required.  To register, please RSVP to Coach Gibble at [email protected] .

Wilson Athletic Camps & Clinics | Registration is NOW Open!
The Wilson School District offers to residents of the Wilson School District, sports camps/clinics designed to give students the opportunity to improve skills, enhance techniques, and enjoy their sport or activity. Wilson coaches staff the camps, along with Wilson athletes, and sometimes special guest staff.  Each camp has a size limit (min/max).  Registration for all camps is first come - first served.
Please be advised, if you register a child for a camp after it has been filled, you will be notified and your child placed on a waiting list.  Please visit the

Wilson Theater Company Announces 2018 Summer Theater Camp
The Wilson Theater Company is excited to announce that the Wilson Summer Theater Camp will return July 2018!  Wilson teachers, Jody and Karyn Reppert, along with fellow staff members and students, will lead elementary and middle school students in exciting and creative camps this summer!  Camps are being held July 16-19 and July 23-26,and are available for both elementary and middle school students.  For more information, please view the Camp Flyer, and to register, please visit www.wilsontheater.org.

 

Aquatics 
Summer Swimming Lessons
The Wilson School District Summer Learn To Swim is now open for registration. Summer swim lessons will be offered every Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday morning throughout the summer months.  P lease visit the Aquatic Website to register.

2018 Summer Swim Schedule
During the summer months, the Wilson School District offers open recreational swimming, aqua aerobics, learn-to-swim, master's swimming and lap swims throughout the day beginning June 11th. District residents can purchase a summer membership pass for unlimited use during our open swim time or pay a daily admission rate during the summer months. The membership passes are also good for any special event held at the pool from June 11- August 3, 2018.

The pool will be open daily Monday through Friday from 12:30-4:30 pm and on Monday evenings for lap swim from 6:00-8:00 pm.

Masters Swimming
Looking for a new fitness option? Masters swim practices are offered at the Roy G. Snyder Natatorium Monday through Friday morning from 5:30-7:30 am. These practices are designed for those who are looking for more of a group training environment. 

Practices run approximately one hour and thirty minutes in length. The practice is a great cardiovascular workout that is suitable for all levels of swimmers. 
Cost is $5.00 per swim or you can purchase a punch card 10 swims for $30.00

Aqua Aerobics Summer Schedule 
The summer Aqua Aerobics with Alison Snyder will begin on Monday June 11, 2018 Join us in the Roy G. Snyder Natatorium for a 45 minute Aqua Aerobic session.  Classes will run every  Monday  &  Wednesday  evening from  June 11- August 1, 2018

MONDAY SUMMER CLASS TIME: 7:30-8:15 PM
WEDNESDAY SUMMER CLASS TIME 5:45-6:30 PM 

Cost of the class is $5.00 or you can purchase a punch card 10 classes for $30.00

Spring Township Parks and Recreation Summer Programs

Get Outdoors Day: Saturday, June 9 from 10 am - 3:30 pm at the Blue Marsh Lake Lakeview Pavilion - Dry Brooks Day Use Area.  Activities include: scavenger hunt with prizes, Red Creek Wildlife raptor show, PennStar Helicopter visit, BAMBA trail bike ride, Control Tower tours, paddle sport demos, K9 rescue demos, fly fishing, catfish pond, archery, geocaching, orienteering, and so much more! Free event!

Reading Pops FREE Father's Day Concert: Sunday, June 17, 4:30 - 6:30 pm, Cacoosing Meadows Park Pavilion. Bring your Pop and Grand Pop to the Reading Pops Father's Day Concert! Spend time with dad at the park listening to the sounds of the Reading Pops Orchestra. Bring your lawn chairs, a picnic dinner (no glass containers), or purchase food at the concession stand. Concession stand opens at 3 pm. Free event! Information at www.springtwpberks.org or 610-678-5399. Supported by the PA Council on the Arts.

Eco-Explorers Science Camp:  Monday, June 18- Thursday, June 21 from 9 am-12 pm at Cacoosing Meadows Park Pavilion. This Camp covers a variety of topics including: sun study and solar ovens (perfect for s'mores), chemistry (bioluminescence and polymers - make your own), soil science and worm farms (make your own), creek creatures and creek health (be prepared to get into the creek). Science games and crafts included. Ages 8-12. $20 per camper; register at: www.springtwpberks.org or 610-678-5399. 

Great American Backyard Camp Out: From 5 pm Saturday, June 23 until 9 am Sunday, June 24 at Cacoosing Meadows Park. Bring your tent and the whole family to join us for a night under the stars and around the campfire for toasting marshmallows, a movie, and memorable family fun! Pack a picnic dinner; a light Continental Campers' Breakfast will be served. Free Event! Register by noon, Friday, June 15 at 610-678-5399.

Bradley Mayer Memorial Running Man 5k
The 2 nd Annual Bradley Mayer Memorial Running Man 5k will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2018 in Shillington.  The proceeds for this event will be used to create a scholarship in memory of this late Wilson High School & Kutztown University cross country captain.  For more info, click here
