End of Year Volunteers Needed!
Foothill staff is in tremendous need of much-appreciated volunteers from all grade levels to help with the graduation season bustle!

Volunteering is a great way to get a sneak peek at what you can expect when your students are seniors.

DECA Students Compete for the Glass
Foothill DECA students who had competed previously at the district and state level, moved on to the international level at ICDC (International Career Development Conference). Before the competition, the students had to undergo heavy preparation and with the help of their peers and advisor, this group of ICDC competitors were ready to take on any challenge presented. Tami Raaker, Foothill DECA’s advisor described this conference ,”as the pinnacle point in the DECA journey. Competition at this level is intense. To watch my students perform at their peak with passion and dedication is one of my greatest rewards in teaching.”

PUSD Stakeholder Survey Extended to 5/17
You should have received an email invitation with a link to the survey. The online survey is compatible with any computer, tablet, or smartphone. There’s also a “save and continue later” feature that allows you to complete the survey at your convenience.

This survey was started last year as part of an ongoing commitment to listening and engaging our school community in how we best serve our students. The survey will be open to all PUSD families, staff, students in grades 6-12, and new this year, community members.

The survey questions address areas like academic preparation, professional development, student support, family involvement, safety, and more. It should take approximately 10 minutes to complete.

The survey is offered in English, Spanish and Chinese and all survey responses are confidential.

Your input will give us insights into how we can best serve our students, families, and staff. We look forward to learning from your input to help our educational community thrive.

Thank you in advance for your participation and input!

A Note From Counseling
Counselors   recently sent home summer school recommendations to all students who have received a D or F in one or more classes.  If your student received a D or F on the March 23   report card, it is advisable to secure a spot in summer school. Completed summer school registration forms must be returned to the Counseling Office at your student's school by Thursday, May 17th.  We recommend signing up early, as space is limited. Courses can be cancelled after June 1 if your student passes those courses by emailing  [email protected] Additional information regarding summer school can be found here  https://tinyurl.com/SummerProgramsPUSD .
Get Ready for Reflections 2019-2020
Reflections is a PTA arts competition that gives students confidence in their abilities to explore ideas and learn through the arts. The purpose of this program is to provide an opportunity for students to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works. Each year thousands of students in preschool through grade 12 create and submit original works in the areas of dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts. Students are encouraged to start reflecting on the 2019-20 theme "Look Within" and work on their entries over the summer, as entries will be due sometime mid-October.

Thanks from PPIE
Thank you for joining our 7th Annual Run for Education at Alameda County Fairgrounds. The weather was great, the crowds were strong, and the kids absolutely loved being with Stomper of the Oakland A’s! Thanks to you and your support, we raised a new record $113,000 net which helps fund librarians, reading and math intervention, support counselors and more at your school. Equally important, the event provides a valuable sense of community - as you can see from this quote.  There were thousands of people of all colors and backgrounds, from different walks of life, of various fitness levels coming together for one purpose: walking and/ or running for better education, better community, and better future. I saw the beautiful social fabric of our community, and suddenly felt such belonging and gratitude. As a first generation immigrant from China, occasionally I have felt rootless and unsecured. Now I see a united community, and felt the spirit of the pioneer era when people all worked together to build their communities. Now I know this is my community and my home.

Thank you again for your support!

A Message from FAB President Derek Perez
We are asking for your help to fund Foothill’s needs this year. Foothill High School is in need of some much-needed support for the replacement of our widely-used sports field. As you likely know, the Stadium Field is in bad shape. Not only is it an eye sore, but its condition also creates safety hazards for our athletes, band members, students and guests.
Although referred to as the "Football Field", make no mistake about it, many other sports, students and clubs use this essential asset for their activities. Over 2,000 kids per year use the facility!
Your support will ensure future generations of Foothill students can use a field on which they are both safe on, and proud of!
Right now the cost of the field is approximately $950,000. Thanks to the efforts of the district, Foothill High School, the Foothill Band, FHS PTSA and the Athletic Boosters, we've managed to raise most of the funds! With that being said, we're still in desperate need of more to complete this project.
So please, click here to donate to help support this cause. Be a part of history. Keep our students safe, and our legacy strong!
