Team Twizzle Takes the Top Spot in NYC

This past Sunday, we celebrated Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer TM New York City at the Sky Rink at Chelsea Piers with our friends from The Skating Club of New York and special appearances from Olympic Medalist Tim Goebel, NY Rangers Alumni Tom Laidlaw, and even Elsa! Our top fundraising team, Team Twizzle, was comprised entirely of adult skaters, raised a combined $3,296 for cancer research, and helped team member Annette Frey mark a cancer-free milestone. "My 8 year cancer-free-versary is just days after our Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer TM event, on February 14th. After cancer many do “something crazy," so I tried the flying trapeze, which was a great challenge but absolutely NOT for me. I knew right then that I had to get back to my first love, the ice. After 25 years away from skating, once I stepped back on the ice I never looked back.  I Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer TM for all those fighting cancer now, those yet to fight and in remembrance of those who lost their battles. Meet Our Board Ambassadors Jeremy and Lucy Barrett

Olympian and National Pair Champion Jeremy Barrett and professional skater Lucy Barrett were personally affected by cancer when Lucy was diagnosed with Leukemia while six-months pregnant with their son, Watson. Thanks to the work of her team at Moffitt Cancer Center, Lucy is cancer free! We're thrilled to count Moffitt Cancer Center as a charity partner and to have Jeremy and Lucy join our fundraising efforts for Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer™ Florida! Fifty percent of the net proceeds raised through this event will be donated back to Moffitt Cancer Center. Lucy and Jeremy are helping bring awareness and support to those journeying through cancer, and their leadership has been an inspiration in our planning of this upcoming event.

Fritzy Finds a Hat

Fritzy is on a mission to find his mom the perfect hat to wear as she undergoes cancer treatment. Written by Scott Hamilton with illustrations by country music superstar Brad Paisley, proceeds from Fritzy Finds a Hat  benefit us here at the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation, as well as Moffitt Cancer Center and their Families First Program.
