The Kualakaʻi (East Kapolei) Station is approaching 75% completion. Communication and power conduits are being installed along with on-site utilities. Walkway railings are also going up with fencing installation not far behind. Engineers plan to energize Kualaka'i soon.

The Keona'ae (UH-West Oahu) Station is nearly 85% complete with fare gates and entryway work expected soon. The Honouliuli (Ho'opili) Station is also approaching 85% completion.

Closest to completion is the H ō'ae'ae (West Loch) Station above Farrington Highway in Waipahu.  At 92% complete, crews are preparing to install entryway tile and shelter canopies atop the station.  Similarly, the Pouhala (Waipahu Transit Station) is nearing completion with crews anticipating ground floor slab installation and the completion of the mauka (Moloalo Street) entrance in the coming months.

The H ālaulani Station at Leeward Community College is approaching 85% completion with crews there ready to begin work on repairing the station's adjacent parking lot.  The Waiawa Station at Pearl Highlands is 75% complete with crews prepping to install escalators and elevators in the near future.

The Kalauao Station near Pearlridge Center is more than two-thirds through its construction work.  Work continues on the station's pedestrian bridge, entry stairs, escalators, and elevators.  Shelter canopies are also planned for installation in the coming months.

RAIL CONSTRUCTION A TOPIC ON THIS WEEK'S HART BEAT

HART Executive Director Andrew Robbins talks construction of the Honolulu Rail Transit Project on this week's HART Beat radio program.  Robbins and host Mike Buck speak about several topics including the specially designed 65-ton gantry crane currently in use to build the rail guideway passing Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam and the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport.  Robbins also updates listeners on the status of HART's recovery plan submitted to the Federal Transit Administration.

On the second and fourth Monday of each month, HART Beat is a feature of the Mike Buck Show.  The program is dedicated to the Honolulu Rail Transit Project and allows listeners a chance to call and email questions for HART to answer.

HART Beat - 5-13-19

You can hear HART Beat on AM 690 and 94.3 FM "The Answer," every second and fourth Monday from 7:00am to 8:00am.
