The Partnership to Advance Collaborative Education (PACE) is an interprofessional wellness center that focuses on meeting the health promotion and disease prevention needs of adults on Long Island. Located in Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine's Dental Care Center, the PACE team includes a nurse practitioner and dental and social work professionals from Stony Brook University Schools of Dental Medicine, Nursing, and Social Welfare.

Eastman Institute For Oral Health, University of Rochester: Getting Braces is Way More Than a Family Affair
Because their oldest son Logan had significant overlapping teeth, as well as being blind and having Asperger's Syndrome, Jim and Linda Merrill were referred to Eastman Dental for his complex orthodontia treatment and special needs. Their daughter, Megan, had a gap in her front teeth and wanted braces, so the timing was right to take them both to Eastman Dental at the same time.

With a gift of $500,000, the Dr. Bernard Malberg Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund will make education more accessible for dental students at Stony Brook, establishing a partial scholarship for one student each year.

Columbia University College of Dental Medicine: $1 Million Gift Establishes Scholarship in Prosthodontics at CDM and Fellowship at Barnard
Dr. Howard P'17 and Ina Drew P'17 made a $1 million joint gift to Columbia University College of Dental Medicine (CDM) and Barnard College in celebration of their children's educational experiences. Their son, Alexander Drew, DMD, MS, received his master of science in prosthodontics from CDM in 2017, and their daughter, Sarah Drew Peterman, graduated from Barnard in 2013.

Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine: Dr. Charles Larsen Appointed to Sub-Committee of American Board of Pediatric Dentistry
Charles D. Larsen, DMD, MS, Director, Advanced Education Program in Pediatric Dentistry, has been appointed to the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry Oral Clinical Examination (OCE) sub-committee to create new vignettes for the board examination process. He is 1 of 18 pediatric dentists nationally to be invited to be on this OCE sub-committee.

Touro College of Dental Medicine at New York Medical College: Beta Mu, New Chapter of Omicron Kappa Upsilon at Touro College of Dental Medicine Celebrates its Inception and First Induction of 10 Newest Members
Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU), the national dental society, was founded in 1914 at Northwestern University Dental School for the purpose of encouraging scholarship and advancing the ethical standards of the dental profession. Touro College of Dental Medicine's chapter of OKU, Beta Mu, is one of more than 50 active chapters in the United States and Canada.
