Wednesday was the first ever surprise Conge Day! Conge (con-jay) is a word meaning "dismissal." Shortly after 8:00 am, the entire school was dismissed from class to join together with their Houses in the gymnasium. We spent two hours doing House relays, having dance parties, and team building with our housemates. At the end of the regular competition, there was a 3-way tie for first between Igleheart, Heekin, and Boettcher. After a tiebreaker round, House points were awarded for the day: Igleheart - 4 points Boettcher - 3 points Heekin - 2 points Baumgart - 1 point

Congrats, Greta!
Congratulations to Greta Griffin who received a Bronze Medal award from the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM), an organization that was founded in England in 1927 and operates internationally, with 8,500 members in over 40 countries worldwide. The RSCM provides a series of grades and awards to signify varying levels of musical achievement. There are four basic merit awards and then three levels of medals beyond the basic merit awards. Greta has gone beyond the basic levels to receive the first levels of medals – the Bronze Medal. This medal is awarded after successful coursework and examination on voice control, musical skills, prepared repertoire, and the choir in context.

Greta sings 3 days a week in her choir at First Presbyterian. Her music director is from England and brought the Royal School of Church Music tradition to Evansville.
