Picnic Pavilion

Ben Blake is building a picnic pavilion for the church as part of his Eagle Scout Project. It will be across from the church in the field to the left of the handicap parking. Thank you Ben!

Daughters of the King (DOK)

The Order of the Daughters of the King is open to all women in the Episcopal Church. A daughter pledges herself to a life-long program of prayer, service, and evangelism. We are all at different stages of our Christian journey - some have just begun and some have been on this path for a long time. But no matter where we are on our sacred journeys, our primary goal is the same - to know Jesus Christ and to make Him known to others.

For those interested in joining the Daughters of the King, contact Judy Smith at [email protected].

Pentecost Celebration and Baptism

We celebrate our Church Feast Day of Pentecost, Sunday, June 9. Pentecost is the celebration of the gift of God's Holy Spirit upon God's people and is considered the birthday of the Christian church. We will also offer the Sacrament of Holy Baptism that Sunday.   If you are an adult or have a child you wish to be baptized, contact the church office at 706-210-1133.

Vacation Bible School

We are joining with Church of Our Savior for Vacation Bible School (VBS), June 10 - 14. We'll meet at Our Savior, 4227 Columbia Rd, Augusta. Adults and older teens are encouraged to assist with VBS. Email Ayn Colsh at [email protected] to volunteer.

Book Club Meeting

Announcing a new book club! The book for our summer read is White China: Finding the Divine in the Everyday by Molly Wolf, available through Amazon. On Monday, August 12 at 10am, we meet at the church to discuss the book. Starting in September we will meet at the church every other month on the 2nd Monday at 10am.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Assisted Living Outreach

In the spirit of "love thy neighbor", Holy Comforter has reached out to a pair of our assisted living neighbors (Elmcroft and The Claiborne) to explore how we might partner together. Residents at both centers welcome human interaction through everyday activities like playing cards, knitting, singing, arts, crafts, movies, baking and even taking mundane trips to stores. Interaction with children and young adults is very special, especially during Holidays (think, Adopt a Grandparent).

If you are interested in this new outreach opportunity, please let us know by contacting the church office or by clicking on here. If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to contact Fred Hoogland at 770-335-7942.

Providing Those in Need with Beds

ReStart Augusta is a nonprofit that builds and brings beds to children, families, and veterans in our area who are in need. We have an opportunity to spend a Saturday morning building and painting beds. No experience is necessary. We reserved Saturday, June 22 from 9am-12pm. We can all go out to lunch afterwards! Contact Mary Kelly at [email protected] or 206-859-8418. We need a headcount by Friday, June 7th.
