VRBC will honor the Class of 2019 graduating high school seniors on Senior Sunday, May 19, during both the 9:30 and 11:00 am worship services.

Senior journals are now on display on the west side of the church lobby and available for signing. Please take a moment to write a prayer or well wishes to any or all of our high school seniors before Senior Sunday. Some of our seniors are fairly new to VRBC, so you may not know them well, but we encourage you to express your sentiments to them.

GROWTH SEMINAR: "DISCOVER YOUR SHAPE"
FOR SERVING

The book of Ephesians says that every one of us is God's "workmanship"--a person created in the image of God with a unique SHAPE that equips us to serve others. Join us THIS Sunday, May 19, at 11:00 am in the Seminar Room to explore and discuss the unique SHAPE (Spiritual gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality, and Experiences) that God has given you and how it sets you up to serve.
At the seminar, you'll learn more about how God SHAPEs people and have the opportunity to discuss the results of your own personal SHAPE assessment with others and potential next steps for you. No RSVP is required. If you have any questions, please contact Amy Wilkins at

GROW GROUP SUMMER SESSION
Registration is underway for the Grow Group summer session! We have a ton of great groups planned for the summer. Many groups will focus on sermon-based content, helping you take the Sunday sermons further; others will focus on topical content such as marriage, mental health, grandparenting, parenting, the Holy Spirit, and much more! A Grow Group is a group of 10 to 20 people who meet together each week to grow to be more like Jesus, and it's definitely THE BEST way to get connected at VRBC. We have groups that meet at various times and locations throughout the week, so sign up for one today! You can find out more about Grow Groups online at

vrbc.net/grow, or even easier, on the VRBC app! You can also mark the Connection Card found in your Sunday worship folder to sign up. It's that easy!
REMINDER: Each Grow Group member needs to register for each session, even if you are planning on staying in the same group. This helps us ensure that our records are up to date. Thanks for your help!

If you are new to VRBC, you are invited to a Newcomers Reception in your
honor! At this informal 30-minute gathering after the worship service on Sunday,
June 2, you'll have the opportunity to get to know some of our church staff,
as well as to meet others who are new to the church. We promise you will
receive great hospitality and food, PLUS a chance to win some cool prizes. No
RSVP is required to attend--just come! The reception will be held at the east end
of the church lobby.
Children of all ages are welcome to attend, so please pick up your children after
the worship service and bring them with you to the reception.

EMILY BELL SCHOLARSHIP GOLF TOURNAMENT
SUNDAY | JUNE 2 | 2:00 PM START TIME
It's that time again!
On Sunday, June 2, sandwiched between the PGA Championship and the U.S. Open, comes the VRBC Golf Championship benefiting the Emily Bell Scholarship at Riverchase Golf Club.
Each year, the golf tournament is the primary fundraiser for the Emily Bell Scholarship. The fund awards scholarship money to selected graduating VRBC seniors and last year, $6,000 of scholarship money was awarded! All levels of golfers are welcome to join this four-person-scramble. HERE to sign up as a team or individually--we will partner you with other VRBC golfers. There is a 2:00 pm start time, so plan to arrive at 1:15 pm to warm up.

"ROAR" VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
JUNE 10-14 | 9:00 AM TO NOON | FREE
Get ready for an African adventure that engages the whole herd! Life is sometimes wild, but God is always good! Join us for a VBS experience where kids discover a ferocious faith that powers them through this wild life!
VBS is from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon every day and is for children ages 3 years old (by 9/1/18) through 5th grade (completed).

SUNDAY | MAY 26 | BOTH SERVICES
VRBC is pleased to welcome Dr. Todd Still to our pulpit on Sunday morning, May 26, at both 9:30 and 11:00 am. Dr. Still has taught at Baylor University's Truett Seminary since 2003 and served as the seminary's dean since 2015. He teaches courses in New Testament studies and Greek, and for many years taught at Dallas Baptist University. He is a graduate of Baylor University (BA '88), Southwestern Seminary (MDiv '91), and the University of Glasgow, Scotland (PhD '96). Dr. Still is a fantastic preacher, leader, and scholar, and we will be blessed as he closes out our "Good Vibes" series.

"CAMEO" SERIES BEGINS JUNE 2
FREE MOVIE TICKET FOR ALL FIRST-TIME GUESTS!
We're just a couple weeks away from the start of the summer blockbuster season! To celebrate, we're kicking off a new teaching series on June 2 called "Cameo." Each week for three weeks, we'll be taking a look at a character in the Bible that makes a short appearance but has a big impact. And we'll talk about how, although we may not be the "star of the show," each of us has an important role to play as well!
To make this fun and to bless our guests with a fun outing with their family or friends, we are giving away a free movie ticket to every first-time guest who attends one of the "Cameo" worship services (June 2, 9, or 16). If you've been thinking of inviting someone to church with you, this is the perfect opportunity! Make plans to bring a guest with you as we kick off "Cameo"!
