With the 2014 general elections now complete, here is an overview sketch of the results:

County Results:Overall "turnover" for county elected officials is 45%. Of the 94 incumbents seeking re-election to their current county offices, 72 (or 77%) were successful in their re-election bids. 

 

General Assembly: In the 141-member House of Delegates, Republicans appear to have won 9 contested seats, though the changes arising from redistricting make this a net gain of 7.  This gives Democrats 91 seats total and Republicans 50 seats total.

In the 47-member Senate, Republicans appear to have picked up 2 seats. This gives Democrats 33 seats total and Republicans 14 seats total.
