World Compass Academy engages and inspires learners in a safe, challenging, and individualized learning environment, which cultivates and fosters character, a lifelong love of learning, and the skills to engage in the global community.

5th Grade Wax Museum

The 5th Graders put on a Wax Museum last week and presented to parents, teachers and students. We heard from actors and scientists, athletes and war hero's, painters and authors, as well as other famous individuals. Everyone did such a great job at memorizing, reciting their bio, and staying in character!

Please do not forget to complete the Support Needs Survey. This survey should take about 5 minutes. We hope to get more feedback from our parents and caregivers around what you need and how the school can be helpful. Thank you!

Middle School Spring Service Day

Having our service day last Friday provided a much needed chance to reaffirm to our kids that regardless of what happens around them, they can infuse goodness, happiness, and light back into the world. The positive attitude of our students and the incredible amount of work that was accomplished is a testament to the great families of World Compass Academy, the resilience of our kids, and the healing power of good works.

Thank you to all the families who provided transportation, chaperoned, and donated supplies. Our kids prepared over 80 kits for the homeless, made over 200 waffles for the Ronald McDonald House, decorated 100 meal bags for the chronically ill, supported agriculture education and exposure efforts, wrote over 75 letters of appreciation to troops and first responders, shared their talents with the elderly, made Mother's Day cards for victims of human trafficking, helped the city prepare for the summer at Phillip S. Miller Park, and cleaned up the creek behind the school. All this work was done with positive attitudes and in some cases, even spontaneous song.

Board Update

At last week's Board Meeting, we elected two new members - Crystal Shultes and Erica Kaiser. The board is continuing to seek an additional 1-2 members. Experience and/or interest in policy and procedures, compliance, or a legal background would be helpful. Please click HERE to apply.

The Board also held annual officer elections. We would like to thank Board President Christina Poler for her many years of dedicated service to WCA as she transitions off of the board this summer. Christina has been involved with WCA from the time it was just an idea and has been instrumental in bringing the school to where it is today.

Newly elected officers as of July 1, 2019 are: Sabrina DeRamus, President, Amy Allmon, Vice-President, Erica Kaiser, Treasurer, and Valeria Miller, Secretary. Adrian Tang also remains as a long-time founding member of the Board and our Lottery Coordinator. Crystal Shultes will lead Marketing.
