Oklahoma Engaged: Weigh In on SQ 788
Our election coverage partnership is kicking off with an opportunity for Oklahoma voters to weigh in,
answer questions, help inform our coverage and be a source for stories by voluntarily joining a texting club. The first topic is State Question 788, which would legalize marijuana for medical purposes if approved by voters on the June 26 ballot. To participate, text the word "pot" to (405) 351-6059; you'll be prompted to answer some questions about your opinions on the issue. (You might be subject to additional phone charges for texting.) Listen for reporting on the air and online as state election coverage gets underway in the next few weeks.

1968: 50 Years Later
The year 1968 will long be remembered for its political and social upheaval, as America was reeling from the assassinations of prominent leaders and a growing negativity toward the war in Vietnam. Ken Rudin hosts a three-part series looking back along with journalists, historians, and several key figures of the time to reflect on the immediate effects, and explore how those events continue to shape politics today. Part 1 airs Sunday, June 10 at 12 p.m. with parts two and three airing June 24 and July 8, respectively.

Norman's 'Jazz in June' Festival Opens Next Week
It's time to dust off the lawn chairs and pack the coolers for Norman's hottest outdoor music festival, Jazz in June. KGOU is co-producer of the festival, so don't be surprised if you see station staff enjoying the music of The Chebon Tiger Band, Eric Gales, Ryan & Ryan Piano Duo, Huntertones, TAUK, and the rest of this year's lineup. See you in Norman June 14 - 16 for some great music!

WESun has recently launched a series designed to help listeners take a step back from the frantic news cycle. It's a feature story billed as the Weekend Long Listen, in which reporters on the ground take you somewhere through sound; these are stories that yes, you just have to listen to. Coming up this Sunday, June 10, NPR's Philip Reeves takes us
aboard the White Swan, a boat that's sailed up and down the Amazon River for more than 50 years. Phil will introduce us to some of the Brazilian passengers who are a microcosm of the country itself. We set sail at 8 a.m. Sunday.
