A Message from the Associate Dean

Research is a central tenet to who we are as a college and faculty. Our strategic plan charges us to “enhance our research impact through collaboration and innovation” as a shared goal to work towards. While research is specifically mentioned in this goal, you will find that research is a thread that weaves throughout Drexel. It is how we advance our knowledge and train the next generation of innovators.
I invite you to join me on this journey and welcome your input and partnership as we shape the future of Drexel Engineering.

Call for Speakers — Office of Global Engagement's Spotlight on… Series
This forum for faculty is for sharing international research and global activities with the Drexel community, receive feedback on ways to strengthen or leverage their research, and raise awareness of the importance for international research. They are currently seeking faculty to present at four Spotlight events during AY20-21. Faculty at all levels are encouraged to apply. Topics can include international research, internationalization of the curriculum and pedagogy, or global-local engagement. If you are interested, please fill out a brief Qualtrics survey. Responses for the Call for Proposals are due by November 23, with faculty being chosen by December 10.
NSF Assistant Director Search
The National Science Foundation is beginning a national search for the Assistant Director for Engineering and seeks help in identifying visionary candidates. Please send your recommendations, including any supporting information that you might be able to provide, to the AD/ENG Search Advisory Committee via e-mail to engsrch@nsf.gov by Friday, February 12, 2021.
NSF Virtual Grants Conference
NSF will be holding a Virtual Grants Conference in November. NSF normally offers this conference face-to-face twice a year but has decided to move it online this Fall. The conference is an excellent resource for new investigators and administrators alike and now the virtual delivery makes space a lot less limited. Registration opens October 29.
