Downtown Partners begins the 5 & V Outdoor Cinema season with The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature tomorrow night at the corner of 5th and Valley. The movie, sponsored by Elks Lodge #84, start at dusk, but be sure to arrive early for games and prizes. Snacks and drinks will be available. Bring a lawn chair and join us in downtown Burlington for a night out!
The Iowa Downtown Resource Center has arranged for well-known business consultant Margie Johnson to visit downtown Burlington. Johnson, whose agency ShopTalk has assisted retailers and restaurants for over 30 years, will be conducting one-on-one business visits at no cost. She will also be giving a presentation, "Let's Talk Business," in the Winegard Room of the Partnership offices on Tuesday, June 12 at 8 AM. Independent retailers and restauranteurs - especially downtown - are invited to attend. The event is free, but please RSVP to Cindy Henry by June 8 by calling 319-752-6365.
The market moves to the 700 and 800 blocks next Thursday from 4:30 - 7:30 PM with fresh produce, baked goods, food vendors, crafts, music by D'Allan Rice, and more. We'll be back in the 300 - 500 blocks the following week. The Jefferson St. Farmers Market is organized by Downtown Partners, Inc. and supported by Two Rivers Bank & Trust.
