Many of you know Lauren who served Campbell UCC as a minister-in-training a couple years ago. She has invited all of us to attend her ordination on May 19th at Urban Sanctuary DOC/UCC, 80 S. Fifth St., San Jose, 3 p.m. This is a very special occasion and it will be a lovely celebration in a fabulous setting. All are welcome.

Mary Edson is sewing a handmade clergy stole to present to Lauren on behalf of Campbell UCC. Thanks to everyone who wrote on the stole last Sunday! We will also have a card for everyone to sign for Lauren in worship this Sunday.

Endangered Species Day May 17th 2019
Southern sea otter by Delphina Dong  grade 3-5
Endangered Species Day presents an opportunity for people of all ages to learn about the importance of protecting endangered species and the everyday actions they can take to help protect them. Started in 2006 by the United States Congress, Endangered Species Day is a celebration of the nation's wildlife and wild places. Every year on the third Friday in May (and throughout the month), zoos, aquariums, parks, botanic gardens, wildlife refuges, museums, schools, community centers, conservation groups and other organizations throughout the country hold  tours, special speaker presentations, exhibits, children's activities and more to celebrate Endangered Species Day.

When Music Sounds - Vivace Youth Chorus

The concert takes place Saturday, May 18th at 5pm in the Sanctuary at Campbell UCC.  Since they are expecting a full house its suggested to order complementary tickets online HERE or to arrive early. Social Justice Small Group
Our next Social Justice Small Group meeting will be on Sunday, May 19th, from 7 to 8:30 pm, in the Fireside Room. During our April meeting the group chose two areas of focus to explore further: 1) Transgender and LGBTQIA human rights; and 2) expanding services to our houseless and food insecure Food Pantry patrons. At our next meeting we will discuss possible educational events to help us better understand and support our Transgender community. Feel free to bring a dessert to share during our meeting. All are welcome.
