Article:  Visual Anchors for Engagement and Retention: 3 Ideas
Over the last few years I have spoken a lot about the importance of "visual anchors" in creating greater impact, focus and retention. These are all key issues for relationships, results and business success. Several studies are finding that retention, or what we recall, in the digital age is shrinking.

What can we do to create more memorable calls? Consider enhancing the visual anchors in your sessions. Here are 3 ideas:

1. Incorporating more impactful visuals. We are in a visual Instagram era and our phones provide a wonderful vehicle for building our own stock imagery. Take a look at some of the photos I've captured on Instagram through my JennBritton (personal) Instagram feed, or the CoachingBizBuilder feed where images have come from Unsplash and AdobeStock.

2. Making visuals more tactile and hands-on. As many of you know, I have an affinity for using visual cards of all types. Back in 2014, I launched my own card deck, Conversation Sparker, a set of 72 photo and question cards. These are now available in digital format, so that practitioners can incorporate them into their virtual programs. Pick up a copy of the Conversation Sparker bundle where you get hard copy cards, digital cards and a copy of the 40 Ways to Work with Visual Cards e-book (Facilitated Instructions to 40 different ways you can work with visual cards)
Here's an example of me walking through the Conversation Sparker website using the Loom Video extension  I mentioned last month: View this walk-though video here (3 minutes)

3. Consider how you can convert text rich slides to more icon based slides. Much of this can be done in PowerPoint. Here's an example of the translation of the 5 Faux Pas for Virtual Meetings from Chapter 9 of Effective Virtual Conversations. Which one stands out more for you? Stay tuned for a future post on more details around slide redesign but key to this was  - using SmartArt, adding color and using icons.

What can you do to create more impactful visuals in your work? We'll be covering this topic and a lot more in the June 2019 Virtual Facilitation Essentials program that will be held on Mondays from 1:30 - 3 pm ET June 3 - July 8 (no call 7/1).

Looking to create some time to work on your business and/or a major project?

Join me for the 4 hour PlanDoTrack Virtual Retreat.

We'll be meeting on Thursday May 30 from 12 - 2 pm Eastern, with each hour dedicated to supporting you to take action towards your business development OR around a major project. Vision, plan, execute and track during the afternoon. Most importantly - GET THINGS DONE!

We meet at the top of each of the four hours. Retreat participants will also have structured activities they can follow each hour, geared to help you get the most out of our time together.

BONUS: I am also available throughout the afternoon session for some short 1-1 coaching around your project or business development work as well.

Here's what 2 of last month's participants said about their experience:
"The PlanDoTrack session was everything I hoped for an more! These 4 hours were a super useful and productive pause to work on my business vision and goals for the year. It was a hands-on approach, very much helped by the worksheets in the Coaching Business Builder and also Jennifer's guidance.
I would certainly do at least one more session!"
- Rute Silva - Organizational Development Consultant/Executive Coach - PCC

" Jennifer - thank you for creating a space to allow me to focus on the deep work that I am committed to getting out into the word.  On a normal day, the whirlwind of life would have prevented me from putting pen to paper and designing a program that could have easily been put off until "someday". Today I prioritized the "important over the urgent and I feel so accomplished to have created content that will make a difference.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
If you are committed to creating a program, a business plan, content , or whatever is meaningful to you and your clients, but you do not have the pace or time to focus, this program is a game changer. Block the time. You will be thrilled with the outcome and the support along the way"  - Jacyln M. Bradley

Spaces are limited so I hope you will join us to get a head-start (or strong finish) around your project later this month. Read more about the program here.

Cost: $129 US
