AB 1871 (Bonta) takes the fight to the Senate!
Last week, AB 1871 passed out of the Assembly with a 56-16 vote, including support from Democrats and Republicans. Now the bill heads to the Senate Education Committee for a hearing on June 13. Let's make sure the committee hears us loud and clear: no child should go hungry in a California public school.

We still have a small window of time to secure funding in the state budget to provide healthy meals to young children in child care. The Assembly and Senate Budget Conference Committee continues to meet this week to agree on a budget package to send to the Governor. This small group of key legislators is currently considering whether to include funding for Food with Care, in their final budget.
