Fasting5K  Sponsors
Youth on Board

Each year during Ramadan,  Fasting5K selects local a organization to sponsor that is making a positive impact in their community -- this year they selected Youth on Board to receive the funds raised from their 5K run!  Fasting5K runs take place all across the country and all  of the proceeds go towards local and global youth development and education programs.

Fasting 5K is organized by youth and raises funds for youth.  The event lets everyone know that there are a lot of Muslims who are passionate about running and raising awareness about Islam and what Ramadan is all about.

We are grateful to be chosen as the recipient of this donation and will use the funds  to support our gun violence prevention and awareness programming this summer.  Read more about Fasting 5k here!
Civics Legislation
Passes in Massachusetts!

On May 30thAn Act to Promote and Enhance  Civics  Education (S.2375) passed in the House of Representatives 151-0!

BSAC, collaborated with nonprofit organizations like Generation Citizen, to fight for both the passing of this legislation and for the inclusion of two amendments that focused on accountability measures and equity for low-income communities.  This legislation is a big win for civics education in Massachusetts!
