Food Product Dating...Addressing the Confusion  
The printed dates on our food products can often spark confusion at the grocery store and at home.  The confusion can come with terms such as "sell-by" or "use-by" among others. Understanding these terms is important when you're trying to reduce food waste and save money.  Read on to learn more about terms that will help you make choices about what to buy and how long to keep it.

Along with a better understanding of Food Product Dating, these K-State publications outlining Safe Food Storage Guidelines in the cupboard as well as the refrigerator and freezer can assist consumers in knowing how to best store food items.  Proper storage can help keep prevent food waste and save money on our grocery bill as well as maximizing freshness of food.
