Centennial Year Graduation Ceremony

In honor of our Centennial Year Celebration, all alumni are invited to participate in the 2018 Graduation Ceremony. Graduation will be held at the Xavier Convocation Center,  May 17, 2018 at 9:00am.  All participating alumni must be present by  8:30am.  We will line up by class year and process in ahead of the graduates. During the ceremony, when the Alumni Association representative gives remarks, alumni graduates will be called out by decade years and requested to stand and be recognized. We are asking all ladies to wear white and gentlemen suits/shirt and ties. If you will participate in the graduation ceremony, email Romero Stewart at  rstewart@opsb.us   with your name and graduation year. Please put  " Attend Graduation 2018" in the subject line of the email. 
Strategic Action Plan Recommendations

On  February 19 , Alumni Association members made recommendations regarding steps to be taken. The committee met on March 9 and developed an action plan to address the recommendations. Additionally, the Strategic Action Plan committee members reviewed the document following our April meeting. View Strategic Action Plan committee response.
Meeting with Superintendent Lewis 

Superintendent Lewis will recommend that all proposals be rejected. OPSB will operate McDonogh 35 for the 2018-2019 school year. Consequently, this will not be an item on the April 19 School Board agenda. Additional information on the meeting will be shared at the May Alumni Association General Membership Meeting.
  
Centennial Scholarship Run/Walk 

Calling All Alumni, Students, Family, and Neighbors,
The McDonogh 35 Alumni Association is hosting a Scholarship Run/Walk from our former location (1331 Kerlerec Street) to our campus (4000 Cadillac Street). The two-mile journey through the 7th Ward will conclude with a celebration of McDonogh 35 High School's Centennial and the City of New Orleans' Tricentennial.

Proceeds will benefit the McDonogh 35 Alumni Association's Scholarship Fund.

Centennial Gala Souvenir Booklet

On Saturday, May 26, 2018, the McDonogh 35 Alumni Association is hosting a gala to celebrate McDonogh 35 High School's Centennial. The Maroon & Gold Centennial Scholarship Gala will bring together alumni, students, community leaders, and a host of organizations from all over the world. It will be a fun-filled evening of live entertainment, silent auctions, and fundraising. 

We would like to invite you to extend your written special congratulatory acknowledgements by placing an advertisement in the Commemorative Souvenir Booklet which will recognize the legacy of this Centennial celebration. Please submit the attached Souvenir Ad Booklet form to place an ad.

Nominations and Board Elections

If you are interested or would like to nominate an Alumni Association member to serve on the Board of Directors, please submit the attached nomination form at the May 3, 2018 meeting or via mail by May 15, 2018. Elections will take place at the June General Membership meeting. 
RENEW YOUR DUES
The Association's Fiscal Year is from October 1- September 30. You may now pay your 2017-18 Alumni Dues via PayPal. Yearly Membership dues are $35 and Lifetime Membership dues are $350. Lifetime Membership dues may also be paid in five $70 installment payments. Also when you pay please put your graduating year in the comment section (and, if you are paying with your business account, your first & last name as well).  Please pay by clicking on the appropriate PayPal button below.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL INSTALLMENT PAYMENTS MUST BE PAID IN THE SAME FISCAL YEAR. IF INSTALLMENT PAYMENTS ARE NOT RECEIVED BY SEPT. 30, 2017,  THE PAYMENTS MADE, LESS 16-17, DUES WILL BE REALLOCATED TO SCHOLARSHIPS.
