"Profiles in Innovation" White Paper Examines the State of Innovation in NJ

The Institute for Life Science Entrepreneurship just released "Profiles in Innovation," the second in a series of white papers examining the state of innovation in New Jersey. "Profiles in Innovation" showcases exciting advances in healthcare with a focus on therapeutics, diagnostics, devices, research tools and other technologies being discovered and developed in New Jersey . It also highlights the work of Rutgers-led New Jersey Academic Drug Discovery Consortium, a collaboration among research universities in the Garden State focused on developing statewide initiatives for research and development.  Read more

Proposal Submission System Down This Weekend for Scheduled Maintenance

The Research Administration Proposal Submission System (RAPSS) will be down on Friday, May 17 beginning at 6:00 PM until Monday, May 20 at 6:00 AM for a scheduled maintenance which will bring the system up-to-date with the latest version of the software. In order to prevent data loss, please save all work and exit the site before the downtime begins.

Amarel Research Computing Cluster Phase III Ownership Opportunity 

The Office of Advanced Research Computing (OARC) is  producing a plan for the upcoming Amarel Phase III compute and storage equipment purchase, and is seeking input to gauge researcher interest in becoming or adding to Amarel ownership. Additionally, OARC will soon be adding a number of consumer GPU servers to the Amarel cluster and is seeking researchers interested in this unusual opportunity to buy-in to the cluster. Read more

Limited Submission Opportunities
The Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) announced the Inclusive Excellence initiative's third competition (IE3). The objective of the HHMI IE initiative is to challenge U.S. colleges and universities to substantially and sustainably increase their capacity for inclusion of all students, especially those students who belong to groups underrepresented in science. Proposals are limited to one per campus (RBHS is not eligible) and pre-proposals must be submitted through the  Rutgers   Limited Submission process . The internal application  deadline is June 4, 2019.

NexGen 2019 Grant
The NextGen Committee of the Ray C. Anderson Foundation is currently seeking proposals for new or existing programs that will help to reduce global warming, whether through direct carbon avoidance, climate communication, climate education, industry engagement, or otherwise. The Foundation intends to award one $100,000 grant to the organization with the best proposal, to fund work during the 2020 calendar year. Deadline: July 12, 2019.   Learn More

Army Futures Command Releases Broad Agency Announcement for Disruptive Applications
The U.S. Army Futures Command's (AFC) Army Applications Laboratory (AAL) released a Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) for Disruptive Applications. This BAA will be continuously open to enable AAL, at its discretion, to fund researchers who propose innovative research in disruptive technologies in relatively short periods of time. The Army seeks cutting-edge technology to prepare the "Army of 2028" to win on the battlefield and support AFC's six modernization priorities.  White papers are required; proposals will be accepted on a rolling basis .
