Meet Some Wonderful People

We thought you might like to hear some stories about our family members.

Douglas

Douglas is paralyzed from a variant of Guillian-Barre disease. He is 58 years old and lives with his wife Diane. Douglas does have insurance but they won't cover all the equipment he needs. NAF was honored to provide him with a specialized shower chair and standing frame.

Benjamin

Age 22

Benjamin sustained a T9 spinal cord injury and a traumatic brain injury in a motorcycle collision earlier this year.  His most immediate needs were home modifications. NAF widened doorways in his home to fit his wheelchair and put a wheelchair accessible ramp on the front of his home. It's an honor to have Benjamin in our NAF family.

Anita
Age 66

Anita lives with her husband, Matthew. Anita's vehicle had multiple rollovers after being hit and she now has a T9 spinal cord injury. Anita is insured but home modifications are not covered. NAF was privileged to build two ramps for Anita; one on the front of her house and one on the back.

Here's something new!

Able Road is a new mobile app developed for the well-being of the disabled community. It is an excellent way of helping each other and promoting them to stay healthy and happy.

Here's how it works- you simply visit the hotspots of the community and give a review on this app about the accessibility of the place, how friendly it is to what disability (mainly sight, hearing, and cognitive), and even how they could improve the quality of their services.

It is an amazing app that helps you keep up with the great quality service in your area by providing you the review and feedbacks of others and also lets you know how far the place/event is from your current location. This very handy app is a must for quality lifestyle.

Memorial & Honor Cards

Looking for a way to help? NAF has donation cards available for any occasion. Make a gift on behalf of a loved one for their birthday, wedding, anniversary or any special occasion. You can also make a gift in memory of a loved one.

Your card, with your personalized message, will be mailed on your behalf to the person you choose. This is a wonderful way to honor someone or a special occasion while helping provide quality of life assistance to spinal cord injured and disabled people in our community. The amount of your donation will not be printed on the card. If you prefer, we will be happy to send the cards to you so that you can mail them yourself or save them for the future.

Give Back To The Community!

Like to know how to be more contributing to our community in an effortless way?

Introducing The Parking Mobility App.

Misusing the disabled parking space is a very common sight nowadays. Now you can help society by reporting violated parking anywhere by just downloading the parking mobility app.

Here's how it works- You see a vehicle parked in the wrong spot, you take a picture of the license plate, front view of the vehicle, and whole picture of the vehicle in the disabled spot. The app does the rest by adding the GPS location, date, time etc and sends in the report to the city. City fines the owner of the vehicle and you get to pick your favorite charity to receive a portion of the fine.

This way you, your city, and your community win and we greatly encourage you to participate in this effortless act.
