Check Out Museum Shop’s Watery Wares this Summer
Even our Museum Shop is immersed in beach images this summer! Special Projects Coordinator Shari Corley, who manages the Shop, says it’s been great fun finding merchandise to coordinate with our two summer exhibits, The Water’s Fine and Making Waves: A Drew Brophy Retrospective.

The world-renowned surf artist’s images will be available for sale on posters, postcards — and on the inside of a beautiful collection of signature glassware, that includes reusable bottles and pint glasses featuring the art of Drew Brophy. “They are incredibly colorful,” Shari says. “And we are exclusive in Myrtle Beach for these products.”

For those who’d like to emulate Brophy’s style, there’s an instructional video in which the artist demonstrates his unique paint-pen technique. You can also purchase the same Posca paint pens Brophy uses to create his artwork. For those less skilled, or ambitious, a line of Brophy-art refrigerator magnets can add a touch of surf art to the kitchen.

For young surfers (or aspiring surfers), there are two children’s books that will be available in the shop: Water by Emily Neye and Gilbert the Surfer Dude by Diane deGroat . There’s also a book on the subject for grownups: All for a Few Perfect Waves by David Rensin
Those enchanted by the underwater images of swimmers and surfers in The Water’s Fine might like to take home a stunning “coffee-table” book titled Water . It’s full of striking aerial photographs by Bernhard Edmaier featuring water in all its forms - from tropical beaches, river deltas and frozen glaciers to misty spray over erupting volcanoes.

And, in celebration of our new Pottery Studio, we’ve added beautiful and colorful ceramic flowers and coral in six different styles.
