From NOW through March 11, 2020, American Jews can vote online in the election for the 38th World Zionist Congress and impact the Jewish future in Israel and around the world.
 
More than a dozen slates representing the diversity of thought, opinion and cultural identity of the American Jewish community are running. The slates, comprised of over 1,800 candidates, will vie for 152 American seats at the 38th World Zionist Congress in October 2020 in Jerusalem, where they will make decisions about the priorities and direction of important international bodies including the World Zionist Organization, Jewish National Fund and the Jewish Agency for Israel and the allocation of nearly $1 billion annually in support for Israel and world Jewry.
 
Cast a ballot for the future of Israel and the diaspora.

Thanks so much to Jenny Strahler, Finley's mom, for helping us plant an avocado tree for
Tu B'Shevat. We sang happy birthday to the trees and had birthday muffins. We also thanked the trees and gave them some hugs.

Book Group Meeting
Thursday, February 13 
7PM

The Book Group will be discussing,  The March , by E.L. Doctorow.  The March  is a historical fiction novel set in late 1864 and early 1865 near the conclusion of the American Civil War. Central to the novel is the character of General William Tecumseh Sherman as he marches his 60,000 troops through the heart of the South, from Atlanta to Savannah, carving a 60 mile wide scar of destruction in their wake. Doctorow retells Civil War history according to the individual lives of a large and diverse cast of characters whose lives are caught up in the violence and trauma of the war. The Book Group meets in the Rothenberg Chapel.

We read books or watch TV series about forensic psychologists who evaluate criminals and defendants and testify in court, ever want to learn more? Join us as our guest speaker, Dr. Jasmine A. Tehrani will share personal experiences from this fascinating field. Dr. Tehrani is a Senior Psychologist with the Board of Parole Hearings' Forensic Assessment Division and Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the USC Keck School of Medicine/USC Institute of Psychiatry and Law.
