Stamp Out Hunger - May 11
Each year, the National Association of Letter Carriers dedicates the 2nd Saturday of May to serving communities nationwide by collecting food to be delivered to local hunger organizations. In Arlington County, all food collected by letter carriers will come here to AFAC! Click for this year's flyer and for more information.

If you miss your letter carrier or live in an apartment building, please bring your donation to the following Arlington Post Offices no later than Friday, May 17: North Station (2200 N. George Mason Dr.), South Station (1210 S. Glebe Rd), Main Station (3118 Washington Blvd), Preston King Station in Westover (5877 Washington Blvd) or Shirlington Post Office (2850 S. Quincy St).
County Board Funding
On behalf of the 2,468 families who came to our doors seeking help in March, thank you to the County Board for their continuing support of AFAC’s food purchases for our many families in need. With the County’s generous help we will once again be able to fully fund the purchase of the foods our families need to build and sustain a healthy and stable life in our community. We thank Chairman Dorsey, Vice Chair Garvey, Mr. Guttshall, Mr. De Ferranti and especially Ms. Cristol - with a warm welcome to her new baby boy: Cary.

Van Drivers are Wanted
Van drivers are needed to help get healthy produce from the farmers' markets to our shelves and other "big" tasks. The commitment is typically less than two hours twice per month on a Sunday (and sometimes a Saturday) between May-November (on occasion outside of that season). If you are comfortable driving a van without all the bells and whistles, please email [email protected] for more details.
College Students at home?
Check out our calendar to see what opportunities we have in the daytime that might fill some hours between part-time jobs and other activities. We could use a few extra hands in our warehouse if you're looking for a more set schedule (and don't mind very physical work). Please email [email protected] to find out more.
Early AM Volunteers

We can use some help 7:30-9:00 am restocking our shelves and getting everything in order for distribution at 9:30. Please see the online calendar for available shifts.
