Unused Valentines Needed
Looking forward to the post Valentine's Day sales? Please consider picking up a discounted box of valentines for kids to use next year! We like to have a collection for kids to use if their families are unable to purchase them on their own. Valentines will be made available to all Franklin classrooms. Please drop them off at the Franklin office or send to school with your child. Thanks in advance for helping all kids enjoy our Valentines/Friendship Day Celebrations.
The Randall GSA Believes "Words Matter"

Our Message: Use names and pronouns correctly. Gender and sexuality are a part of our identity, not put-downs. Words have history, especially with regard to race and ability/disability. Think before you speak. Choose kind. Be an ally.

Please enjoy our video to hear more about why words matter. Thanks to the brave 5th graders who come to the GSA and helped bring our message to life!
I Am Jazz And Friends
School & Community Readings
The I am Jazz community readings are happening again this year. Mx. Hemmerich, art and REACH teacher at Randall, will be reading at the Sequoya branch Library. Feedback and info about last year's event is available here .
The Flu!
Influenza (also known as "the flu") continues to be at high levels in Wisconsin. Symptoms can include a quick onset of fever, fatigue, stuffy nose, sore throat, and cough, among other things. People tend to feel more miserable than with a common cold. Influenza does not cause vomiting (“gastroenteritis” which is sometimes mistakenly called “the stomach flu” causes vomiting).

The best way to reduce a person’s risk of getting the flu is by getting the flu vaccine. The flu shot cannot give you the flu . It’s not too late to get the flu vaccine; however, the vaccine takes about 2 weeks to work fully.

The flu is very contagious. It is spread by droplets in the air or direct contact. Remind your child to cover their mouth (with the inside of an elbow) when they cough or sneeze. Wash hands frequently with liquid sanitizer (use the size of a quarter) or soap and water (scrub for at least 20 seconds = two rounds of the “Happy Birthday” song).  Please keep your child home if they have symptoms of the flu .
