This educational program provides information on Elder Law topics for senior citizens, family, caregivers, and service providers.

Willmaker Seminars
Get a tough job finished! In a single, easy session, you'll complete a will, financial power of attorney, and combined medical directive (including living will, medical power of attorney, and organ donation), all with the help from Colorado licensed attorney Mike Anderson. Cost includes all materials, witnessing, notarizing, individual review and plenty of time for discussion and questions. Participants do not need to bring anything to class. Pre-registration is required. Cost is $125-Resident/$150-Non-Resident.

Pole Walking
Pole Walking in its simplest form is walking with poles! To receive information and to schedule an appointment, please call 303.464.5534.  Scheduling your transportation to medical appointments as soon as you know the date and time helps us accommodate all members' needs and must be done by 10 a.m. two business days prior to the appointment. Please be ready five minutes prior to your pickup time. This allows on time arrival for everyone's appointments. Your patience is appreciated on return rides home; we will be there as soon as possible after we receive your call. If there will be a significant delay, you will be informed.  
 


CAREGIVER RESPITE INFORMATION
Are you providing care for someone age 60+ in Broomfield County? Please call 303.464.5529 or email  lclaxton@broomfield.org to find out how the Caregiver Respite program may be able to assist you with no cost, temporary, in-home services. 

Handyman Program  
The handyman Program focuses on helping Broomfield residents 60+ live safely and independently in their own home by providing assistance with minor repairs and safety modifications. Services are provided by volunteer handymen, and are limited in scope. Donations welcome. Please call  303.464.5529 or email  lclaxton@broomfield.org .

Medical Equipment Loan Closet  
Have an upcoming surgery? Mom coming to town and needs to use a wheelchair? Medical equipment can be very expensive. To save on this expense for short term needs, borrow your equipment from us! Broomfield residents age 60 and over or their caregivers can borrow equipment from Senior Services Loan Closet for their personal use at home for up to two months. Items available include wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, canes, and shower benches. Contact the front desk at 303.464.5526 for more information. Items available on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no cost to check out equipment, but donations are greatly appreciated to help us keep our supply stocked, cleaned, and maintained.

Colorado History Talks  
Incarceration of Japanese Americans During WWII
Tuesday, May 8, 3-4:30 p.m.
Presentation includes a video of a Japanese American who graduated high school in an incarceration center in California. We will discuss the similarities, as well as the differences, between the incarceration of Japanese Americans and the Holocaust. Presented by William Zessar. FREE.

Veterans Benefits Presentation 
Wednesday, May 16, 9-11 a.m. 
Join our Veterans Service Officer for this workshop for Veterans, their spouses and dependents to learn how to plan for the future and access earned benefits and services. Various benefit topics will be covered, including service and non-service connected pensions, survivor benefits, health care, burial benefits, and long-term care information. FREE. Alzheimer's Association Series
Dementia Conversations  
Wednesday, May 16, 3-4:30 P.M.

LAKESHORE ROCKS! 

Broomfield Senior Services is looking for youth volunteers for our summer LAKESHORE ROCKS! program. 
LAKESHORE ROCKS! is a summer youth volunteer program where youth assist with set-up and clean-up for the daily senior lunch program at Broomfield Community Center. This intergenerational program encourages young people to contribute to their community while working alongside and on behalf of older adults. Youth age 12-17 work one day each week from June 4 through August 3, from 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
If you're interested in getting involved, complete an application and return to Broomfield Senior Services by Monday, May 7. Interviews will be held the week of May 14 and a mandatory orientation will be held on Thursday, May 31. For questions, please contact Megan Herman at 303.464.5543 or mherman@broomfield.org
