Retrofitting roofs in Pennsylvania's 'Rust Belt'
Esther Obonyo, associate professor of engineering design and architectural engineering, was awarded a $25,000 grant from Penn State's Institutes of Energy and the Environment to design and test a new roofing composite. Jennifer Lather, a doctoral candidate in architectural engineering, is currently using computer simulations at Penn State Hershey Medical Center to better understand how to design for the changing situations in the hospital's emergency department.>>
Building a better healthcare environment
As part of the 2018 national Architectural Engineering Institute Student Design Competition, 10 Penn State architectural engineering undergraduate students worked to create a cohesive, adaptable, patient-focused, state-of-the-art children's hospital located in Omaha, Nebraska.>>
